When others are busy encouraging people to plant non-existant trees which will occupy space and time, China as usual has moved a step further by bringing something totally out of the box. The Nanjing towers pictured below will be completed in 2018 and it will be Asia's first vertical forest. It will be 656 ft and 356ft tall, it will house 1000 trees, 2500 shrubs and 23 different local species. Not only will the tower help control pollution, it will also serve as a way of saving endangered species of trees and shrubs which are disappearing daily.
