Interesting 5000 cops to be let go. is this a good developement for Nigeria police force or this people should be given alternatives? will this result to higher crimes

As the article reflects, its part of ongoing reform and reorganization of the force only those ill equipped to be in the force are being let go. There is plan to hire new recruit to take their place. This is a welcome development.

You're letting policemen go like that?. . .You could transfer them into the FRSC or something so they don't turn jobless and look at crime as an alternative. What's the severance package like?

Why should they be transfered, the way i see it it's a welcome development cos they are as corrupt as heck.

@ Dozman these so called police officers are part of the reason why hoodlums are around, they take cash off innocent people and even work collaborately with thieves in some cases

Sounds to me like the ranks of Nigeria's armed robbery corps are about to be increased by 5000 more trained gunmen who will now be free to work full time at what was previously a part-time hobby - brigandage.

Well as quoted in the news paper. This cops enlisted under dubious activity, should we now turn the other face and let them continue to be a cop or they should be sack and prosecuted for their crimes?
