dayokanu: The highest goal scorer in Eredivisie in 94/95 was nowhere? How many times will you goof in a space of 60 mins? 35 goals in 36 appearances for PSV in 94/95 and he was nowhere? Honestly, i think i have clearly overestimated your intelligence on this section. . . .
Between 1999 and 2001, Ronaldo made just 8 appearances. . . . How many goals was he expected to score playing 8 times in 2.5 years? 500 goals? Seriously, you have the brain capacity of a pubic louse. |

^^Hey, I'm yet to see how legendary rooney is without BBC, PFA and Sir Matt Busby. |
Re: Chelsea Fans Thread : Winners of the FA Cup And League Winners 09/10 by Sauron1: 9:43pm On Jul 15, 2010 |
mama-gee: That's EASY. . . . . Rooney has never played outside England. Ronaldo has played outside his country. . . .same as Kaka. Obviously, they had more to win playing and jumping from club to club. |
Re: Chelsea Fans Thread : Winners of the FA Cup And League Winners 09/10 by mamagee3(f): 9:49pm On Jul 15, 2010 |
^^That's obviously cause every good coach wants a high world-class player not an overrated mediocre player. I think Messi with his dribbling skills is a little overrated talk less of rooney with no speed, skills but I give him credit for his hot-temperedness, nothing more. Legend my foot! Rooney has an awful lot to do to get in the same league with ronaldo, kaka and messi. |
Re: Chelsea Fans Thread : Winners of the FA Cup And League Winners 09/10 by jalether(m): 9:56pm On Jul 15, 2010 |
dayokanu: Ronaldo. . . 1994-1996 at PSV scored 42 goals in 46 app . (that is freaking consistent, more than consistent in fact) it's important to note that this was at a period when eredivisie had substance and was well recognized worldwide dayokanu: He was injured in that period, you can only judge a player based on his output on the pitch We are comparing players at their peak btw, only a doofus would even attempt to make such a comparison dayokanu: My conclusion is that Ronaldo, in his prime, was head and shoulders above every other striker that ever played the game and as a result renders your comparison absolutely useless. which leads me to the final conclusion that you are an irredeemable camel |
Re: Chelsea Fans Thread : Winners of the FA Cup And League Winners 09/10 by dayokanu(m): 10:17pm On Jul 15, 2010 |
If you are not daft, Were you not the one who brought the issue of consistency. Xavi is more consistent player than Zidane. Since your brain power can not follow an argument through We are comparing players at their peak btw, only a doofus would even attempt to make such a comparison Zidane at his peak was better than Xavi to tweak the argument, you brought consistency into it, 15mins later you are shifting the post again |
Re: Chelsea Fans Thread : Winners of the FA Cup And League Winners 09/10 by Ibime(m): 7:09am On Jul 16, 2010 |
^^^ Consistency is based on the denominator of how many games you played. Ronaldo was consistent throughout his career. Almost every season he played, he smashed it. hehehe. . . . this debate has gone to pot. Speaking of Ronaldo, some lummoxes like Dr Kartoon have placed Zidane as 3rd greatest player of all time behind Pele and Maradona. This disconnect between myth and reality is frightening. Zidane isnt even the greatest player of his generation for that honour goes to Ronaldo Lima. Zidane is not even the greatest French player, for that honour goes to Platini. We havent even started talking of guys like Cruyff, Eusebio, Beckenbaur, Di Stefano, Puskas etc. This just goes to show that Zidane is more myth than reality. I believe Dayokanu said this in April: dayokanu: You are right. The third greatest player of all time was being outshone by Del Piero, Ronaldo and Figo on a regular in the late 1990's. In the 2000's he largely wasted his career with Real Madrid, strolling around the pitch for 90 minutes, and having only 1 UCL and 1 league title to show for his time there. Lets face it. . . . Zidane's legend was made by 2 lucky headers in the WC final. How come Zidane had been playing footie for 10 years before tkb heard of him? I doubt we would place him above Romario and Baggio if not for his slice of luck in the 1998 WC final. |

ALEX: BACK AMONG YOUNG At 28 years of age Alex is all set to be the old man at the heart of the Chelsea defence when the pre-season games kick off tomorrow at Selhurst Park. John Terry, Ashley Cole, Ricardo Carvalho, Paulo Ferreira and Branislav Ivanovic are all yet to return to training following World Cup action and Jose Bosingwa has yet to rejoin full training. He is in the final stages of recovery from knee surgery so the likes of Michael Mancienne, Sam Hutchinson, Jeffrey Bruma, Patrick van Aanholt and Ryan Bertrand come into the frame for defensive positions alongside the Brazilian for the match at Crystal Palace. Several possible combinations have been worked upon in training Alex reports. 'It is good to start the pre-season games after two weeks everyday with training,' he tells the Official Chelsea Website. 'We start with what I think is a difficult game and we don't have many of the other players here yet, but we have a good group with the reserve team coming in to play a part and it is important to win the first game of pre-season. 'It is good for us in training games because the young players never stop running,' he smiles. 'They are always up and down the pitch and it is good for your condition. You always have to pay attention. 'It has been good working together with players like Jeffrey and Michael Mancienne who are sometimes also as left back and right back.' Alex as much as anyone is pleased to have joined the preparations from day one having seen this stage disrupted by injury the last two years. 'When I arrived here two weeks ago the doctors spent one training session with me in the morning but I felt good and I trained normally. I had a problem the last two pre-seasons but this season it's very good. 'I rested two months almost and now it is a double session each day but we need this for starting the season in one month.' On his return he quickly had to grow used to a new team mate determined to test central defenders with the ball at his feet - Yossi Benayoun. 'He is a good man, he is experienced and I think he will help us this season. We need players of this quality,' Alex notes. 'He is difficult to mark when we do this in training - attackers v defenders - and I have to have more concentration in defence.' He may have acquired a new Israeli colleague but Alex has lost a Brazilian one in Juliano Belletti who looks to have settled on a new club. 'I tried to call him when I saw the news two days ago. Fluminense is a big club in Rio de Janeiro with the best manager in Brazil. I hope Juliano does a good job there and wins the championship in Brazil. http://www.chelseafc.com/page/LatestNews/0,,10268~2093531,00.html |

dayokanu: Have you seen what happens when midfielders try to go toe to toe against Xavi rather than defending for their lives? I will refer you to Barca vs Bayern Munchen in 08/09. The system of packing 10 defenders on the edge of the box was invented specifically to deal with Xavi. |

Ibime: GBAM. When I raised the issue of zidane being overrated a few months back, some resident retards and nincompoop nearly chopped my head off I don't neccesarily follow the crowd/media when it comes to footie or any other issue for that matter, I basically make my own informed judgement |

Re: Chelsea Fans Thread : Winners of the FA Cup And League Winners 09/10 by ritchboy(m): 2:29pm On Jul 16, 2010 |
My challenge remains: Please name any single match Xavi played from 2005 till date where his midfield didnt dominate possession. Ponce like Ibime would lead you to believe Xavi is the only player in the Barca/Spain midfield. . . can you "name any single match since 2005" where Iniesta's or Busquets' midfield didnt dominate possession? DUNCE!!! Some other punk is here mentioning De La Pena. . . . I shall leave his conscience to judge him! De La Pena is a better passer of the ball than Xavi. . . IS HE THE BEST MIDFIELDER YOU HAVE EVER SEEN? |
Re: Chelsea Fans Thread : Winners of the FA Cup And League Winners 09/10 by dayokanu(m): 2:50pm On Jul 16, 2010 |
Ibime, A team dominating possession doesn't mean the midfielder bossed it. The opposing team might just decide to give them possession and play on the counter and I have given you several examples. Bayern vs Inter in May, Can we say Schweinsteiger and VanBommel bossed Sneijder and Cambiasso? Chelsea vs Arsenal Can we say Fabregas and Diaby bossed Lampard and Essien Barcelona vs Chelsea 08/09. Can we say Barca bossed Chelsea midfield (Hindick time) Barcelona vs Man Utd 07/08 Barcelona and Spain dominating possession without creating scoring chances mean nothing. For all Xavis touches at the world cup, How many assists did he make, passing to Pique, Cassilas, Busquets and back doesn't mean any thing in football. Most times, Iniesta was more threatening than Xavi to the opponent |

Ibime: I always believe u had a brain, but with this statement of urs I am tempted to think Eyonitwit and Khanye are far ahead of u in terms of intellectual capacities !!! only retards will keep arguing with u on Xavi vs Zizou . . . The world went numb when ZIZOU headbutted Mate-rubbish, if Xavi does same to a player, how many people do u think will be bovvered ? Its Zizou we are talking about here, not Lampard !!! If u need some, better go get some and stop spewing adulterated bunkum . . .if Xavi were to hear u say this tohim that he can ever clean Zizou's boots HE WILL SHOOT U DEAD ! Shoe get size abeg ! |
Re: Chelsea Fans Thread : Winners of the FA Cup And League Winners 09/10 by doyin13(m): 11:02pm On Jul 16, 2010 |
I agree Zidane might have been overrated, but let's not go too far in the other direction and underestimate his talent. There was a palpable change in the French team when he came into the team in the '06 world cup. . . . He had a certain aura about him and he was capable of flashes of brilliance. |
Re: Chelsea Fans Thread : Winners of the FA Cup And League Winners 09/10 by Ibime(m): 11:59pm On Jul 16, 2010 |
Dr Kitaun: What does this have to do with anything Dr Kartoon? I see that Zidanes flair for the dramatic is the allure for you, much like Gerrard's flair for the dramatic had you hailing him as one of the greatest. What else do you expect the world to say when one of the most decorated players of his time goes bananas on the greatest stage of all, in his final match as a footballer. I guess the whole cinematography of the event is what oils your fantasies. Anyway, how does this explain the fact that some lummoxes like Dr Kartoon think Zizou to be the 3rd greatest player of all time behind Pele and Maradona, when he is not even the greatest in his country or the greatest in his generation? |
Re: Chelsea Fans Thread : Winners of the FA Cup And League Winners 09/10 by Ibime(m): 12:44am On Jul 17, 2010 |
dayokanu: If you are trying to pidgeonhole Xavi as a pretty but ineffective midfielder, please name any other player who created 50 assists in the last 2 season. . . please do not quote player from Albanian league! According to OPTA statistics, he is the leading creator of chances in La Liga (109) and in the Champions League (37). If 27 assists in 08/09 is ineffective, please tell me how effective is Zidane's career high of 14 assists in 2000/2001 at Juventus? Zidane in his whole Real Madrid career never made more than 9 assists per season. His assist total at Real is 38 assists over 5 seasons. . . . compare with Xavi, 50 assists in last two seasons alone. You dont have a prayer! |

If I did call u IGBE-MEE as against ur moniker IBIME, do u know what that means ; goat's dung am not sure u will appreciate that will u ? so why the f@ck will u join those illiterates like Eyoniggar that has been wanking himself silly over Wande Coal's pix and thus disgracing his whole lineage ? word is on the street that Eyonitwit took his (Wande) pix and wanted to blackmail him, to make it worse he chose to photoshop, EFCC is now on his trail, useless arindin! are those the people u roll with dude ? These achievements by Zizou will NEVER be attained by ur boy XAVI . . . When great players are mentioned, Xavi will not be mentioned, in a list of greatest 100 players maybe, but however way u want to look at it, anybody's top 10 list would be incomplete without the only 2 players that have won the WPOTY 3ce - Zizou and Ronaldo !!! U keep yapping about assists, how many assistants have u seen the world over at the age of 30 still basking for recognition ? the world has left behind Xavi a long time ago . . .Zizou razzmatazed the whole world for donkey years now, I was even amazed anyone was talking from 1998 . . .Zizou had been making the FIFA X1 team before that time, please guys get ur facts right ! Xavi is still looking for recognition @ age 30?. . . . only to the uninformed!. . . . Xavi doesnt have time for flamboyancy. . . although I have an idea what Xavi can do to gain such recognition. . . . he needs to headbutt someone in the next World Cup final!!! |

I said it ! u are perenially daft !!! why cant I bring in Wande Coal and Eyonitwit into a Zizou debate ? Eyonitwit tags me Dr Kartoon, I feel thats way too moronic and u that I tot u had at least a brain decides to dig at me using same for which the gods have started punishing Eyonitwit for ? get another brain dude, this one has stopped working !!! if u dont understand why I take exception to u calling me lummox u will have to get an aba-made brain fast Xavi will NEVER be WPOTY, he will in the next 5 years not be greater than Lampard, at least Lampard scores I tell u if Xavi kaitarizes anybody on the field, no one would be bovvered, who is Xavi in the comity of players ? his midfield dominates in terms of possesion not only him, that NEVER makes him better than the opposition, I wonder why anyone is so bovvered ? XAVI has been playing at Barca for 19 years why hasnt he ever got anything meaningful for himself all his life ? how many years has Messi played at Barca that he has won WPOTY ? at club level, forget national team level has he done any better than Giggsy who has spent all his life at Manure ? Abeg, leave matter for matthias jare ! |

Re: Chelsea Fans Thread : Winners of the FA Cup And League Winners 09/10 by Ibime(m): 2:15am On Jul 17, 2010 |
dayokanu: And that is the reason why Spain only conceded 2 goals in the tourney. . . how many goals you want score when the opposition has 80% possession? Leave matter for Mathias. . . . if in any doubt how Xavi brutalises all opposition midfielders, please go and ask Sneijder and Schweinsteiger. It was Xavi that gave Sauron mouth to be dissing Schweinsteiger sef. Ozil had looked like Maradona up until Xavi starved him of possession and turned him into a hapless lummox. |
Re: Chelsea Fans Thread : Winners of the FA Cup And League Winners 09/10 by DrKitaun(m): 2:22am On Jul 17, 2010 |
@DK No mind dem . . .meaningless passes from Xavi to Pique, back to Xavi, turns round, dances alanta, and squares to Busquets and to Puyol which gets returned to him, if he gives Ramos e no go get am back, dat one na purposeful player e go just carry the ball waka in fact, those people be comedian, anybody celebrating that with all the possesion rubbish they could only score 8 goals is deluded . . . more purposeful teams score 20 plus goals but the world champions just serenade everybody with boredom until there is no need to bother marking, well they know the game will end 1-0 to either side . . .what the heck is footie turning into ? and some ediots will tell me XAVI is f, ucking what ? great ? GET THE F, UCK OUT OF MY WAVELENGHT !!! I diss and diss AW season in season out, f, uck possession footie ; get the bloody results, get the crucial wins . . . now this scenario might prompt AW to believe what he had being doing with those smallies might be right afterall, he gambles another season away again, who knows ? Ol boy ! see as I just no fit even coordinate my tots again . . .possession footie my black behind ! Imagine Sauron that used to say no matter how a team parks the bus, a very good attacking team should unlock it, so why the heck couldnt Spain undo Holland until Fab came in and refused to do the Xavi style that almost looked Mikel-like Iniesta is even better than Xavi, abeg make we talk better jare, who be Xavi ? |
Re: Chelsea Fans Thread : Winners of the FA Cup And League Winners 09/10 by dayokanu(m): 2:32am On Jul 17, 2010 |
Ibime: And scored 8. How come the best midfielders team only created 8 goals, The worst for a World champion in history Starved of possession by getting the ball and exchanging passes with Pique 7 times, then turns to Puyol and the Casilass . Is that what you cal creativity? Some players with two touches make defence splitting passes but Xavi needs 500 touches to create 1 goal. Tell us how many touches he took at the world cup and how many assists he had so we can determine his productivity ratio. Ozil had 2 assists that I can remember, Muller had 3, Schweinsteiger had 4, fabregas had assist, even Iniesta tell us how many assists this midfield General had |
