Talk about drama. Two CSkA Moscow players, Ignashevich and Berezutsky have been found guilty in a dope test charge. It's a developing story but what this translates according to UEFA regulation is that the team which just qualified for 2nd round of the UCL could be thrown out and replaced by Wolfsburg.
So don't be surprised to see Dzeko and Grafitte in round two.

If Berezutsky failed the test, then his twin brother should also be tested. There is no way one twin could be doping without the other knowing or even participating.

A bit of misinformation by the German media.
They took cough syrup. . . . .The case would be swept under the carpet.

No be only cough syrup. According to UEFA regulations, as long as more than one player from a team has tested positive, the team which the guilty parties play for could be disqualified from further participation in the tourney no matter the stage of the competition.
There's a real chance Moscow could be evicted from the house in the next couple of days. Which is so sad considering how hard their players have worked in the competition.

The decision would be taken on December 17

"Sudafed" is the "drug" in question and its for cold and throat inflammation. The problem here was that the team doctors failed to take permission first from UEFA before using it on their players and then they also did not indicate this in the protocol as required. This is the fault of the CSKA team doctors and not the players. A technical mistake so to say.

Common sense naturally would usher one in support of Moscow, but giving the history of Russian(former U S S R) athletics with doping, UEFA wouldn't want to be seen taking this case lightly.
CSKA have played fantastic football and deserve the 2nd far more than Wolfsburg who seem out of place amongst Europe's elite.

Wolfsburg should be ashamed if they find this backdoor route into the latter stages of the UCL, they rightly did not qualify due to their performances. I think UEFA has clarified that CSKA's progress in the competition will not be hindered.

Yeah as more details emerge It's looking like the Wolfsburg hope is already going up in smoke. Moscow should make it through unless Platini secretly keeps a German passport.

CSKA will NOT be disqualified.
Only the players concerned are likely to face sanctions.

It was a clerical oversight but the Germans are the twats making it look serious so they can qualify via the back door.
No one in this day n age would risk taking banned substances with UEFA officials breathing down the necks of footie players.
