Capital Oil and Gas boss, Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah has come out with some pretty ideas which he believes can transform Anambra State into a major commercial hub of sub-Saharan Africa. The billionaire businessman, who recently decamped from the Peoples Democratic Party to the ruling All Progressives Congress with an undeclared aim of tapping from the federal might towards achieving success in his state’s upcoming gubernatorial election revealed these policies during an interactive session with some folks with free time whom he had gathered at his country home in Nnewi.

“We are blessed with the ideas that can replicate the Chinese type of economic recovery here in Anambra State if government understands its roles in commerce.”
Mr Uba said.

“It is not just about collecting tax but to create commercial enhancement policy relationship between it and business owners.”
He continued.

“With government partnership with the traders and other business owners in the state, we can create a thriving local economy in Anambra State that will make it a commercial hub in Sub Sahara Africa.”
He added.

He was also of the opinion that Anambra should stop waiting for monthly federal allocation as the state is capable of building a strong and self-sustaining economy on its own.

“We as a state must get ambition toward enhancing our economic potentials by partnering with the traders in our state.”
He said.

“The 21st century is not a century for lazy sub national governments, rather a century that beckons on states to build a thriving local economy. You can’t grow commercial activities in any territory where the traders or investors are not making profit, however attracting business to the state is not enough, but making policy that will reduce the cost of doing business in the state and creating profit margin that will encourage business expansion which will in turn aid our economic recovery. Without creating map for commercial activities, we will remain stagnant economically.”
He added.

He was also full of praise for the Igbo race, describing them as people endowed with sagacious business know-how who can rival the Chinese people in doing business if only they had the support of their government.

“We are the only black race that can mimic the Chinese style of doing business but unfortunately our business players do not get government support like that of their Chinese counterpart.”
He asserted.

“If I have the opportunity to govern Anambra State, I will not just replicate but internalize the Chinese model of commerce here in Anambra State.”
He promised.

All through his speech he repeatedly talked about government partnering with traders to build a thriving economy, and that sounded sweet. And he severally made a model out of the Chinese way of doing business like it is the best thing since vegetable soup, and that also sounded sweet. But Mr Uba never explained to his audience what exactly is the Chinese way of doing business and why it should be replicated in Anambra. And he made no attempt at telling the good people of Anambra that the Chinese socialistic way of doing business which he so much wants to replicate does not encourage the government pumping money into the hands of so-called business players in the name of partnership, rather it encourages the government spending its money on building institutions that can absorb its working populace.

Knowing that China is the fastest growing major economy in the world, he probably was only interested in convincing his audience that the Chinese government must be splashing their business players with hyper-inflated contracts, and Anambra will thus grow like China if Anambrarians elect a governor who will share the state’s resources among select billionaires. Or he just wanted to bamboozle Anambra people into believing that Anambra can become China if he is made governor, without he himself knowing how China became China.

Who knows? Anambra might become the China of Africa if Anambrarians start doing business like the Chinese, but what Mr Uba is proposing is clearly not the Chinese way of doing business.

And somebody who doesn’t even know the Chinese way of doing business can’t make Anambrarians to start doing business like the Chinese.

What is affecting "Doctor" ifeanyi ubah is acute illiteracy. But if Eze could go to school, ifeanyi ubah can also go to school.

Ifeanyi ubah is no different from Rochas Okorocha so Anambra cannot take that rist of having a Rochas in government house
