This is heartbreaking indeed, how on earth could a mother could go to this extent. A woman was filmed throwing and kicking her daughter down a flight of stairs in Guangdog province, south eastern China, and has sparked outrage.

The baby screams as she is beaten against a tiled floor by her mother, identified only as Chen, who beats her relentlessly.


The footage was released by police who said the mother was given a verbal warning and that the girl did not suffer any obvious injuries.


It is believed the attack by the 27-year-old happened on February 24 in the middle of the afternoon.


She told police that she had lashed out because the baby would not stop crying and she had been under a lot of stress recently.


She added that she was sorry and that she was finding it difficult to control her emotions.

The baby is now being cared for by her grandparents.
