damrmd02: wow,i don't know that dates for Lent also changes..because some ignorant people will say Muslims don't have specific dates or month for Ramadan.pls wats the specific dates or month for Lent?just asking this is how the Catholic Church count the calendar dates from November to the following year October. Form Last Sunday in November add 4 weeks it advent. Which is expecting of Christ birth ( Christmas) 25 th December is Christmas From Christmas day add 4 weeks. That 4 weeks in Christmas is the Christmas season or the effiphany of our lord. Which means when Christ is shown to the world. ( this takes us to January ending) From from that effiphany add 4 weeks it's called the ordinary time(season of Christ ministry to the world) After that ash Wednesday (lent starts) Add 47 days to the ash Wednesday it's Easter. Form Easter add 40 days it's Pentecost ( when the christain life starts) After that add 28 weeks, these weeks is the continuation of the ordinary time. That takes us to November ending which end the church year or calendar with corpus Christi celebration which is called in English Christ the king celebration 2 Likes 1 Share |

someone should please clarify this DID YOU READ THE PORTION OF THE BIBLE WHERE THE ISRAELITES WERE BITTEN BY SNAKE IN THE WILDERNESS AND GOD COMMANDED MOSES TO MAKE AN IMAGE OF A SERPENT ON A POLE, THAT ANYONE WHO LOOKS UPON THE IMAGE WILL BE SAVED. NOW MY QUESTIONS TO YOU ARE: 1. WHY WERE THEY BITTEN BY THE SERPENT 2. WHY DID GOD ASK THAT AN IMAGE BE MADE SINCE HE "FORBIDS IT", DOES THAT MEAN GOD IS CONTRADICTORY? 3. IS IT THE IMAGE THAT SAVED THEM FROM DIEING FROM THE SNAKE BITES? IF YOU OR ANYONE ANSWERS MY QUESTIONS THEN I WILL ADDRESS YOUR IGNORANCE ON THE USE OF IMAGES BY CATHOLICS. IN THE INTERIM PLEASE KNOW THAT CATHOLICS DON'T WORSHIP IMAGES 3 Likes |

Christians must always live in this way, without any wish to come down from their cross - otherwise they will sink beneath the world's mire. But if we have to do so all our lives, we must make an even greater effort during the days of Lent. It is not a simple matter of living through forty days. Lent is the epitome of our whole life." |

someone should please clarify this And my response is Why did God command in Exodus25vs18 the making of two Cherubs of beaten gold on the ark of the covenant and says he will dwell there amidst the two man made cherubs and that he'll also address the children of Israel 4m there? Did God contradict his law in exodus20vs1to5 in exodus25vs18? As if that was not enough in Joshua7vs6 Joshua wit all the elders of israel fell prostrate before that very ark from mornin till evenin and God did not complain...check out Numbers21verse6to9 God also commanded the makin of the bronze serpent and wit that healed the Israelites..did God also go wrong there? Can't God inundate nature and glorify himself through created objects like he did in John9vs6? What then is wrong in imitating God in the use of Images in glorifyin him? |
