This is why people should remember to plan for old age. Do your best for your kids but also plan your comfort in old age. If you kill yourself for your kids it doesn't mean that they will do the same for you. I don't blame people who don't want kids. Having kids is a very expensive, time consuming job. And at the end this may be the result! Even in this age and time, 40yr olds are still living at home and can't afford to take care of themselves not to talk of an aging mother.

Her children have neglected her calling her a troublesome woman. Her friend or so took her in and later sent her away. Who is she going to cry for. Why she is in pains is that noboby is interested in her. If the govt comes to her rescue do you think she will feel it this much? I am so much against what her sons have done. Despite what she is. It is their duty but they have failed Because of the age and health of the woman the government is suppose to help her. There are thousand and one cases outside but we are just privilege to hear this one.
All am saying is that there should be a home for the aged. Catholic has it but it will not contend all of them. The government should give a helping hand.

I am not blaming the government for this. Am saying they should give a helping hand to this type of persons. Remember you and I cannot in any circumstances allow her parents to go there. But for the ones that their children have neglected them due to their age and health there should be a home for the aged.

I love my mother but ask the children and you may be amazed at the real story.

The mom may be troublesome but not a justified reason for neglect.

The sons can organize an accommodation for their mom and keep paying the rent and pay the services of a house help to cater for their mom. She would be comfortable without having to allow her come over to their homes....

What a pity. A woman who should be enjoying her old age is being subjected to this kind of treatment and she has not 1 but 5 children and none wants to know about her welfare and upkeep. They're all missing a mother's blessing and I pity them.

1) The children would grow old too and if their children treat them the same way they treated their mother they should not complain.

2) The children's wives would be MIL someday too and if they are treated the same way they treated their MIL they should not complain.

Their mother stayed with someone else for a good few months and there was no complaint from the person that she was troublesome. It just shows that the children are the type who don't care and I SMH for them as what goes around, they say comes around.

Thry say madness cannot catch many people at the same time. If there's no fire, there cannot be a smoke. A man running inside brambles and thorns, is definitely pursuing something or something is chasing him. All of the children cannot be bad at same time. The son has said it all - settle her in old people's home since she quarrels regularly with her daughters-in-law. You won't know the havoc this type of old people can wreck unless you experience it. If you don't want wahala to kill you, it's better you help them from a distance.

You may have a point. But, I repeat again no man or woman born by a woman can give me a reason or reasons to deny his or her MOTHER assess to him or her. The woman is known as mama paper. When she earned she spent it all on her children. She paid rent and school fees for the grand kids. When she could no longer earn they abandoned her. She is bent over with old age. She comes to visit my mother and always complains of hunger. The last time she visited she suffered a seizure.

Its a fact that mothers tend to be annoying immediately they turn 60 and getting older, this a natural cycle that everyone must understand. We start from nothing and we will return to nothing. During the stages of a baby and toddler, we tend to be the most annoying but they had no other choice but to put up with us with patience and perseverance until we attain adulthood and able to look out for ourselves. At this stage ur mama tends to grow old through menopause and post meno-pause that makes them change their thinking will be going back to a toddler thinking. They still want to control u and do so many other annoying things. As they grow older it worsens cos they are returning back to where they came from and their behavior degenerates. At this point is where they need us most cos they are transforming back to being a toddler.
God has a way of doing things, when we are young they take care of us till we are old enough to fend for ourselves and take care of them.
Hence, no matter how annoying or what they do to us, we still have to accept them cos its our God given responsibility. If they had choose to abort us or abandon us, we may not turn our to who we are today. So my friend it is completely wrong path they have taken regardless of what turns out of their mum.

There is more to the story, I believe. No one, I repeat, no one will not want to have anything to do with their parents without a reason. Their action may be wrong but it cannot be without a cause! I've learnt in life never to judge anyone prematurely until I've heard all sides to the story.

Truth is, some mothers are not worth calling 'Mothers' judging by reality. It isn't natural for a mother to be neglected by 5 children. It only shows there is a story we are yet to know of. No matter what the old woman did, she is still their mother; I will always put blame on the kids. They are heartless, it's a very simple solution. if Mama is troublesome maybe because of old age, its happens because they will be behaving like a kid when they are old and they will want to be treated with all care, so it's a simple strategy. Just get a nice apartment for mama and get a nanny and you guyz should contribute a certain amount of money for mama every month.

Good idea but I see that they prefer to abandon her in an old people's home. Why cant they recover the apartment MFM got for her, tell their lazy brother to get out and pay the rent henceforth for her?. There are carers who manage the elderly in their own homes. 5 of them should be able to contribute to pay for such services since they dont want her near their wives. Hope they understand the law of karma perfectly well.

It's good to be blessed with daughters really. They often care more for their parents in old age.
