Good one!

The judiciary should speed up Kanu`s case and sentence him to death.

Judgments need to be delivered faster

He may not spend up to 3 years in jail! So stop jubilating. The war against corruption has not been started.

It's just 154 years. That's no big deal. He'll soon be out after his prison terms.

Sensationalist headline at its finest. At the trial court, the ex-lawmaker was sentenced to 2 years imprisonment on the 77 counts preferred against him; and the sentence was to run simultaneously (or concurrently).

Therefore, this ex-lawmaker will only spend 2 years in prison, not 154 years.

He should spend the remaining years of his life in jail. Money that is meant to be used to make lives of the masses better will just be looted by one person. We need more court rulings like this.

The bane of this country has always been the political office holders and our so called leaders but if measures like this is shoved down their throats then we might be thinking of a Nigeria with future but if not there is no hope for this country atall.

You guys don't seem to understand Nigeria's judiciary system. He was served 154 yrs actually but its for the 77 count charges. Meaning two years per count and they will run consecutively. In essence he is just sentenced to two years imprisonment. If he has been remanded in prison for some time now say about 18 months, it means he has just 6 months remaining. After that he is done and if he actually took 1.4 billion your guess is as good as mine. grin grin grin grin grin grin. Nigerian movie.

77 Count charges for 154yrs in prison.

each charges is 2yrs prison term

all prison term to run concurrently.

That is this man is only sentence to 2yrs imprisonment.

again, i dnt know how true this is, i heard 24hrs is equal to 2 days, day/night.

if the above is true, that is, this man will only spend 365 days in prison.

According to Jonathan on his first campaign in TBS, Lagos, "how much did Jim Nwobodo stole, that Buhari sentence him to 300yrs", now that stealing is now corruption.

154yrs is a scam, just 2yrs technically and am so sure he had spent from the 2yrs outside bars. Democracy na fraud.

Anyway, it's a way to start after so many failed attempts to jail thieves.

If this runs concurrently, he's just got two-year jail term, and out of this he's spent some months already in the course of his trial. Isn't this fraudulent?

I knew it cannot be 154 years... maximum 2 years in prison and his people would welcome him back like Ibori.

Tokziby:
Abeg make una cool una blood, na all this "fraudulent" jail sentence. He's just been handed a 2 year jail term. All the 154 years na lie dey there, its 77 counts x 2= 154years. The 77 counts will be served concurrently meaning all the counts starts same day that he was arrested and will end after 2years. He's probably used 10-12 months (starts since d first day of arrest through to court hearing and verdict) out of the 2 years and it will remain less than 12 months to spend in Jail. The late alams was the same, he was handed 12 years on 6 count charge and he had exhausted like 18 months through court hearing and verdict. By the time they convicted him it was 6 month left which he spent in Dubai as he claimed health issues.
Ibori was sentenced to 13 years in 2012 and got out in 2017. Tell me my maths teacher has thought me wrong 2012+13 = 2017

English LAW is the greatest fraud of all times. Make we throway the useless thing and burrow law from china or Saudi, make we kill them all. Fraudulent law that is used to try fraudulent people, no be fraudulent jail sentence we go get!!! awon wereyyyyy
