Gekko:

Ha! you are living in denial. You are talking about a man who rescued us from scandalous mercenary bankers. If it wasnt for his intervention these banks would have spiraled out of control.

Are you 100% sure of your comment? You need to see beyond the rescue. Have you forgotten how we hailed. SOLUDO with his consoldation?

You may so well be the one living in short sightedness.

Just hold on, Nduka Obiagbena will find a way and institute an award called SURVIVING BANK(ER) OF THE YEAR.
that charlatan is a glorified hustler.
He and Ctiy People's publisher are singularly responsible for the bastardization of awards in the media.
Vanguard na small boys for their side.

am not suprised angry

let those hungry "brown envelope/cheque" newspaper and their journalist come out and talk again angry, make i feed 'em shit!!!! shocked

when they were doleing out awards like confetti, wot dis they expect.

it got so ridiculous that different newspapers would give seperate banks similar awards

imagine "MOST CORPORATE AWARE BANK", "MOST CORPORATE RESPONSIBLE BANK", "MOST CORPORATE ACTIVE BANK" , "MOST CORPORATE FRIENDLY BANK"given to different  banks by different newspaper at the same week.( it was a competition by these fake banks).

imagine "BANKER OF THE YEAR","MOST ENTREPRENURE SAUVVY BANKER OF THE YEAR","MOST FOCUSED BANKER OF THE YEAR"

i mean, these things were ridiculous.

it reached a point where these awards started having a reverse impact, because the public  knew that these awards (as is every thing in Nigeria) were bought and it made them look desperate and pathetic (remmember the king with the invinsible clothe)

well (i dont blame them sha )the newspapers were just trying to milk those fakes called banker
grin

Bunker of The Year, methinks. That should be given to the remaining banks who have escaped the debtor lists and CBN domination.

Awards are meant to appreciate a good work done wink, it's more than a periodical event lipsrsealed
Re: No 'banker Of The Year' Award This Year? by ayoolab: 8:58am On Dec 20, 2009
methinks, the award has been silently and rightly so, given to the Banking sector reform czar, Sanusi, love it or hate it

I don't care what you have to say, posting in CAPS and such big font is poor netiquette.

Stumbled across this link talking about Vanguard's 2008 Bank awards. From all indications the awards have been pretty big money spinners in the past for Vanguard newspapers, no points for guessing why they are so ticked off at Sanusi grin
