Arsenal, Chelsea, Man Utd await Champions League draw

Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United will learn their opponents for the first knockout stage of the Champions League when the draw is made on Friday.

The three Premier League clubs won their groups but Liverpool exited the competition after their third-place finish and drop into the Europa League.

The trio, who cannot face each other or teams they met in their group, will play runners-up from the group stages.

The draw takes place at 1100 GMT and is followed by the Europa League draw.

Arsenal, Chelsea and United will definitely avoid fellow group winners Barcelona, Bordeaux, Real Madrid, Fiorentina and Sevilla.

But the likes of Bayern Munich, AC Milan and Inter Milan are all possible opponents.

The other teams in the draw are: CSKA Moscow, who finished second in United's group; FC Porto, who were runners-up to Chelsea; Lyon who beat Liverpool to second place in group E; Olympiakos who finished second in Arsenal's group; and Stuttgart, who finished second behind Sevilla in group G.

Group runners-up will play the first leg at home on 16-17 or 23-24 February, with the second legs on 9-10 and 16-17 March.
