Chairman, Council of Ulama of Jama’atu Izalatul
Bidi’ah Wa Iqamatus Sunnah (JIBWIS), Sheik Sani
Yahaya Jingir has called for a fresh election in the
event of death or incapacitation of a Nigerian
President.
He stated that the present arrangement as contained in
the Nigerian Constitution where the vice president
takes over should not be the case.
Jingir spoke in Bauchi at the matriculation of the
students of Sunnah College Bauchi.
The cleric opined that the present arrangement had
opened an avenue where the president was exposed to
uncertainty while his vice was confident of becoming
president whether Nigerians liked him or not.
“If this arrangement is maintained as it is, it will pose
a lot of political uncertainties and security threat to us
as a nation. “We elected the President as the President. If he dies or incapacitated, there should be a fresh election. “If this anomaly is not addressed, then we are not secured because a dishonest Vice President may work against him to get his seat. “Is the right to personal opinion guaranteed in our constitution? Then this is my personal opinion,” he said.
Sheik Jingir also faulted the arrangement where all the 36 states produce 3 senators each regardless of their land mass and population, noting that such places the bigger and populated states at a disadvantage.

Oh Lord! It's bad enough that the bottle feeding system of this country already favors these parasitic elements, he still wants them to produce more senators to be paid from where? Is it because Nigeria is too stupid not to realise that landmass is not a criteria for state creation and representation in saner climes? Is it the land and open space he's coming to represent? These considerations already play out in the House of Reps with Kano having the highest number of representatives because of the unjustified 44 LGAs that have been created yet the greedy idiots want the same thing replicated at Senate level!

If he feels the VP is not capable of being president then what is the point of having both run for election? Both were elected and this VP was a major selling point for the APC which saw the gullible majority vote in the fossilised cadaver we have in office today. It's just because of their primordial obsession for power and that devilish born to rule mentality that's why he's worried that a VP taking over changes d power balance. I'm sure if it was a Southerner that was in office and sick or incapacitated he would not call for fresh election but rather expect the northern VP to take over.

Useless set of human mistakes!

Sheik Sani Yahaya Jingiri is becoming more circumspect than INEC, NASS and The Constitution.
This time around, The NASS should not sit idle till an unscrupulous inept Soldiers attempt to harass them from office.
Amend The Constitution, by limiting Presidential Responsibilities to Foreign Affairs, Military and Treaties. Grant Full Autonomy to the 36 ,States and make Traditional Rulers responsible to State Governors and be in charge of their Local Governments.

well its his opinion so nothing bad, but about the representation in the nass, its already been taken care of, with the present system, the senate favours the smaller states while the house of reps favours the bigger ones.
