Let me Clearly state that it all happened on Twitter, I kept twitting till i got an invitation to meet him. There is power in social media

You will be a greater Tony Elumelu!

“Who dash monkey banana” the exact words that one of my close friends told me when I told him last year (2016) that I would one day meet, greet, shake hands and seat with my mentor Mr. Tony Elumelu, CON. Most times you must avoid negative people, no matter who they are or what they mean to you. If a person is negative he/she will poison your dream with so much negativity that it would only take the grace of God for you to believe again. Your inner voice must also be told to shut up anytime it speaks negative.

One of my biggest goal for 2016 was to meet with Tony Elumelu, CON. I have always admired him as a father, brother, teacher, entrepreneur and friend. His thirst for Africapitalism, philanthropy and Entrepreneurship overwhelms me. I placed his picture on my vision board, used it as my screen saver, and followed him on all social media platforms, sent out one tweet almost every week to him but it still didn’t happen in 2016. Someone said courage is going from failure to failure and not losing enthusiasm. I didn’t give up, I was persistent on achieving this goal I had set for myself.

I understood the impact that achieving this goal would mean to me and most entrepreneurs who come from my kind of background (Abject Poverty), I wanted to achieve it so as to encourage every entrepreneur that whatever the mind can conceive and believe it can achieve it.

Fast-forward to February 2017, I who used to be someone’s houseboy, finally met the man I love so much, the man I believe in, the man that gave me a life line when all others said they needed collateral, he only asked for an idea that can transform Africa, the man that has empowered over 2000 African entrepreneurs, the man that set aside $100,000,000 to empower Africans for 10 years.
He and others from H.I.E.R.S holdings, Uba & The Tony Elumelu Foundation treated me to a cocktail that evening and hosted me on CoolFM969. Thank you to all at the foundation, Thank you sir
I am yet to recover from the euphoria of meeting my mentor Tony Elumelu, When I saw him he said “YOU WILL BE A GREATER Tony Elumelu”

Set a goal, worked hard at it and believed it was possible. Achieving your dream may be hard but it’s possible if you believe. Dream big and dream beyond!
