Ronaldo Moves Fourth In European All-time International Goalscorers List B by Punctual(m): 5:15pm On Mar 27, 2017
Cristiano Ronaldo moved to fourth in the all- time list of European international goalscorers after scoring twice for Portugal against Hungary. The Real Madrid forward starred in Saturday’s 3-0 win, first striking with his left foot from 20 yards, before bringing up the 70th international goal of his career by curling a low free-kick into the bottom corner. Ronaldo’s double takes him to fourth in the list of top European international scorers, behind Ferenc Puskas (84 for Hungary), Sandor Kocsis (75 for Hungary) and Miroslav Klose (71 for Germany). Ronaldo faces Sweden on Tuesday and could move into the top 10 in the list of top international scorers in the world if he nets another double. But, speaking after Saturday’s triumph, he insists he is more focused on firing Portugal to the World Cup than his own individual feats. “I know how many goals I have but that’s not the most important thing,” he told Portuguese outlet RTP. “What matters is that we won and we’re in the fight to go to the World Cup. “We started out timid. We were slow to react to their tactics, but everything changed with the first goal. The team played better, more confidently, and the goals came naturally. “The team is good. We have a lot of young players.” This post has already been read 259 times!
