Animals with fur or feathers will not do any harm or shock.

Besides the animal has to be grounded. A cat should be careful of its nose. Grounding is the reason birds sit on power lines with high voltage and dont get shocked.

To be honest, most false alarm tigger are caused by either faulty installation or breach by trees. Thats my experience. Also, if you install a small energizer to a large perimeter, you may experince false alarm during rain falls. Rain increases the resistivity of wires by a very small measure. Also installing wires close to each other may cause shorting producing blue lightning-like sparks especially during rain triggering the alarm.

With proper installation, you will forget you have an alarm system.
