Its math so you need to first identify the difference, in this case its a difference of 8
bro, i'm an electrical engineer, if you said difference, how is ur difference equals 8, when the first equation is 2and3=7, using logic and reasoning, ur difference of 8 isn't visible. please give me better explanation

For each example, it seems to me to be the square of the first number minus 2. That is...

N² - 2

In which case the answer would be 98 as in 10² - 2.

thinkdip:

Its simply 119
how did I get my answers
Subtract the first total from the second total
and just add 8. What ever you get add it to the
second total it would give u the next total, do it
for all and you'll get the answer.
e.g
i) (23-7)+8=24
Then 24+23= 47.
ii) (47-23)+8=32
Then 32+47=79
iii) (79-47)+8= 40
Then 40+79= 119
and so on and so forth
Wrong bro, youare using sequence and sequence is misleading at the last equation.

The answer is 99 with proof

3×2=6+1=7
5×4=20+3=23
7×6=42+5=47
9×8=72+7=79
10×9=90+9=99
Hence the proof. Show me likes if I'm right

You are wrong. It's 98.your answer would have been correct if it were 11*10.check the sequence the first digits are odd numbers while the second are even but the one in question changes. The fina answer is 98

The answer is 98. The formular is: multiply across, the number in the first column with that in the second column. subtract one from the second column number and add the result to the previous answer from the initial multiplication. Thus the final answer on the forth column.

you guyz are just intelligent but that doesnt make you a good teacher. You will get your students more confused with your explanation. Now the add addition of odd numbers 1,3,5,7,9 will give us 99 as the answer, that is a sequence. But consider 98 as the answer too, even though those that arrived at the answer couldnt give us a concise approach how they got it. But in simplest term:
1 is deducted by each of the multiplier and the rest is added to the product of each equation:
that is why the final answer 10*9 =90+(9-1)=98. I de use small phone so I cant type more than this
Why don't you go back and read what led to the argument or my first post on this thread that explained the answer.
ITK.

3 x 2 = 6 ... + 1 = 7
5 x 4 = 20 ... + 3 = 23
7 x 6 = 42 ... + 5 = 47
9 x 8 = 72 ... + 7 = 79

10 x 9 = 90 ... + 8 = 98

a x b + [b-1] = Answer (small play, and some peeps wan kill me grin grin its not my equation na

note the sequence of the figures being added wink...

modified

look at it this way:

3 x 2 = 6 ... + 1 = 7 (1 that was added is the number before 2 [the least number in the equation])
5 x 4 = 20 ... + 3 = 23 (3 that was added is the number before 4 [the least number in the equation])
7 x 6 = 42 ... + 5 = 47 (5 that was added is the number before 6 [the least number in the equation])
9 x 8 = 72 ... + 7 = 79 (7 that was added is the number before 8 [the least number in the equation])

10 x 9 = 90 ... + 8 = 98 (8 that was added is the number before 9 [the least number in the equation])

maybe there is a shorter way to explain this.. but the above is how i arrived at 98

VERY VERY WRONG steps BUT CORRECT answer.
it's 3 × 3 = 9 ( 9 - 2 ) = 7
5 × 5 = 25 - 2 = 23

and so on.

10 × 10 = 100 - 2 = 98.

I am not wrong, the question is a logical question so it has no mathematical prove. All you have to do is understand the logic and unbox it, note that I only dealth with the answers for each line because the subject only carries 2,2,2,1 as it sequence therefore it has no effect to the solution, meaning that the question can only be answered by logic. check my solution and prove me wrong

3x2=7 (1)
5x4=23 (3)
7x6=47 (5)
9x8=79 (7)
9x10=101 (11)

The progression is in prime numbers which are only divisible by themselves
Re: Can You Answer This In Ten Seconds? by Nobody: 1:14am On Mar 29, 2017
What you fail to notice is that the next 2 numbers in the sequence are supposed to be 11 and 10 but we have 10 and 9 so any calculation from the given sequence won't work it's just trickish
Re: Can You Answer This In Ten Seconds? by agunwaanthony(m): 2:58am On Mar 29, 2017
The answer is 101.
It was derived by adding prime numbers 1,3,5,7,11 respectively to each product.

Re: Can You Answer This In Ten Seconds? by FYTnRUN: 8:36am On Mar 29, 2017
The answer is either 99 or 101.. Because the added number to the multiplication follows as arithmetic progression by odd numbers or prime numbers..
Re: Can You Answer This In Ten Seconds? by KEMELU: 8:49am On Mar 29, 2017
Answer is 99 with proof

3×2=6+1=7
5×4=20+3=23
7×6=42+5=47
9×8=72+7=79
10×9=90+9=99
Re: Can You Answer This In Ten Seconds? by iamsoja(m): 9:40am On Mar 29, 2017
The formula is (a x b) + (b - 1)
(3 x 2) + (2 - 1) = 6 + 1 = 7
(5 x 4) + (4 - 1) = 20 + 3 = 23
(7 x 6) + (6 - 1) = 42 + 5 = 47
(9 x 8 ) + (8 - 1) = 72 + 7 = 79
(10 x 9) + (9 - 1) = 90 + 8 = 98
