(forwarded as received) NASS REFUSE TO PASS THE LAW TO ALLOW USE OF RECOVERED LOOT FOR NIGERIANS Many people erroneously believe that Buhari is not fighting corruption; that none of the people arrested/detained/accused by the EFCC has been sentenced to prison. Buhari wants to set up an anti-corruption court and the bill called the Special Criminal Courts Act has been submitted to the NASS (National Assembly) since last year, but they have refused to pass it into law. The same thing is happening to the Whistle Blowers Protection Act meant to protect whistleblowers from injury, death, economic sabotage, and job termination. The Senate told the government point blank that they will not pass the Anti-Money Laundering Act into law. The bill has been with the Senate since 2015. If corruption is not tackled and the judiciary is not re-organized to tackle corruption, how will Nigeria leave the developing country status and become a DEVELOPED NATION? Most of the funds recovered cannot be accessed until the cases are concluded at the Supreme Court. We are talking about N2 trillion potentially that the government cannot touch until final judgment at the Supreme Court. That is why passage of the Anti-corruption courts legislation is critical to accessing these funds because cases at the trial court level will be concluded more expeditiously. Now this same NASS is asking for 2.3% of get this, ALL FEDERAL ALLOCATION, for "constituency project". Didn't we embark on the wrong protest yesterday after all? Can we now see the true enemies of Nigeria? There is a perception deficit. Many people cannot even hear what the administration is saying because a dangerous narrative is being sold to people that Buhari caused the recession (the recession which since 2014 Madam NOI, awa 1st rate economist, has warned us will happen) If this perception deficit is not corrected, Buhari will not be able to get the support he needs to get his programs through, especially the ones that need enabling laws from the NASS. by Bunmi Awoyemi edited by Chidinma Nnadi addendum by fellow Nigerians - Remember terrorists only understand one language and that is terror. We must all unleash terror on these NASS members so they will understand we are not going to sit back and watch them continue to destroy Nigeria. 1 Like |

If Presidency bows to the wish of the 'thieving Sin-ators' by replacing Magu, then democracy will suffer a huge blow! Saraki is afraid of Magu's probe of his shady deals and is therefore using his fellow thieves to blackmail Buhari to drop him!! I predict Saraki and his gang will truncate the 4th Republic the way they are going! Shioor!! 1 Like |

Scatterscatter: look at this one So if someone has an on going case the person should resign what happens if the person is later found not guilty . Just swallow the bitter truth magu was used by those in good books of Mr. President when the president was active to witch hunt opponents in the Senate. now that the president is weak is pay back time . 1 Like |

Ndolarr: Serves Buhari right.. When those who founded APC had their plans to follow, he allowed someone like Saraki hijack Senate (an important arm of government) with the help of Daura, Kyari and other non-voters card carrying members One thing I'm certain is Saraki's presidential bid is dead on arrival. not when people like me, sowore and some others still breathe 1 Like |

TonyeBarcanista:So you want other APC members to keep mum when Buhari is trying to run a dictatorship? You're always never a patriotic human. This is a party cleaning itself and purging its own stupid policies. That's what every well evolved party should do including the PDP. Your end goal is to feed your hungry stomach at the expense of Nigeria. All over the world, political parties disagree on national issues and put the country first, as seen in US where some republicans kick against Trump's policies. This is true democracy where the opposition should be at the forefront championing criticism of the government's decisions. You should encourage it and not make cheap remarks for your paid penning. |

I think the Presidency should just respect the Senate recommendation on Magu!! Going forward, the Presidency may have to reenergise the liaison between them and the Senate so that government affairs will not be stalled. The second time that the Magu candidacy was represented, I thought that they had reached a common ground with the Senate but it has been proven otherwise. We are also rapidly approaching 31st March when the current budget expires and the Presidency will need the concurrence of the Senate to spend any money pending the conclusion of the budget being worked on by the Senate. |

The set of senates that are suffering from demonic nakednes that required millions of naira to change their wardrobe. I think they should go and cover their own unclothedness first before facing Magu and Comptroller general. Saraki has phobia for Magu because of the various allegations and the ongoing trial. |
