I think his certificate might be authentic. I graduated in the 99 academic year too, but didn't defend my project till january 2000, thanks to the slow academic sessions and countless strikes. I resumed camp in Obubra, Cross-Rivers state in July 2000. I just checked now, and my NYSC certificate reads the same dates with Dino's.

Why is it that Dino Melaye doesn't have the original certificate.

The Senate has a plethora of constitutional duties but only one has caught their fancy - summoning!
My "kwashiokor" point is that, the Senate, has a responsible institution should take preemptive and proactive actions not all these rigmaroles.
The Senate does not have any corruption detecting agency, they rely on agencies controlled by the executive. Were they established to act only when their extravagant display of irregularities is been threatened?
Why do they filibuster many important bills but act promptly whenever someone investigating them is been summon?

Lets address your points one by one:

But its within their constitution jurisdiction to summon public servants and even individuals in the private sector to answer queries regarding conduct. Let's not even argue this. You'll lose. Senates all over the world do this. Low hanging fruit. So no, they don't need to rely on agencies controlled by the executive. IN FACT, if you go back to the last Senate, it was Sen. Saraki then, that blew the top off a major fraud case in the petroleum industry. I also know that our pension system has improved because of very vigorous investigative activity in the 7th House of Reps under Tambuwal, etc etc.

That may be case, but it might also not be the case. Its like me arriving at the conclusion that since mostly PDP members in the past administration are being hounded, the fight against corruption is selective. I might be right or not. But I have no proof that I'm right, nonetheless.

Which important bills have they filibustered? Please name like 2 of them. I recall that in the President's absence, the Acting President then, was able to sign a few bills working in synergy with this same Senate you condemn... and he was in acting capacity... the so called mere commissioner

Weakening the Senate as an institution just because you don't like who is heading it RIGHT NOW, will never benefit any country. That's a short-sighted approach to nation building

I know that excuse of not written by one person will surely surface. Here's the fact no one person can write exactly the same way on document, there'll be some variations. In this document the distance on the starting line is the same. You don't need any formal training to know that this document was doctored. Keep advocating for him

kindly tell him to provide the original copy like many of his camp mates did, then maybe that'll show everyone that the document is genuine.

My cert does not have line under the date. If you serve in 2010, the 20 will be printed with the certificate and 10 will be written by the calligrapher. There's nothing doctored here. ]
