Hi Arts Jambite,

A couple of minutes ago, I saw a similar thread on frontpage for commercial jambites, as for science jambites too a few hours ago.

We all know that we arts student play with words to manipulate feeling and atmosphere. Can we do that now?

So, for a start, here's a demo literature in English question:

"Seven days without food makes one weak." What literary device is the previous sentence?
A) Synedoche.
B) Onomatopoeia.
C) Pun.
D) Bathos.

We arts jambites refuse to be intimidated.

About number one, have you thought about the possibility of the answer being:
i) assonance: check the vowel sounds in the sentence. ii) personification: is "Sorrow" a human being or a living thing.

Correct. Meanwhile, I'm not good in Government. So, you two could help out in that area by asking questions here. I'm not offering it in UTME, though.
But literature is my area of concentration.

Nice thread. What I want to know is; as an aspiring BA English graduate, what subjects apart from English, Lit. in English, Math., History and Economics does one need in GCE O Level and UTME?

Or are the above subjects enough?

You'd need five credit, As follows:

Maths
English
Literature
At least one art subject e.g. CRS, Government, etc.

Can you wait till tonight when I'd be able to check in detail for you? By the way, I'm an English (BA) aspirant, too.

That'd be awesome!

I'm in a small dilemma on what to pick from History, Economics and CRS amongst others to complete the five undecided

Pray tell, what's the minimum number of subjects one can register and sit for for GCE O level?

I strongly advice you go for CRS. It's an arts subject. Commercial students offering CRS are just wasting their time.
You can also choose History if you want, but are you sure you can handle it? Most schools don't offer History, you know.
You have to sit for at least eight (cool subject minimum in GCE.
I perceive something. Hope you're not depending on
