This is what Saraki said during Buhari's 2017 Budget presentation at the NAss on 14th December 2016:

"We commit to work on the 2017 budget conscious of the responsibility that the current economic situation imposes on us; driven by urgency to alleviate the suffering of our people.

We assure you Mr President and all Nigerians, that not even a single minute would be wasted on our side in ensuring we get the budget approved."

The first step Saraki took after the budget presentation was to almost immediately announce that the NASS would embark on an early and lengthy christmas break from 18th December 2016. angry

So? You came this morning to buy excuses for the incompetent Buhari, who before election said it was not right to seek medical treatment out but spend good 50 days that should have been used for governance holed in a UK hospital?

Why would PMB submit budget on the 14th December, using 11 months to prepare it, yet want NASS to pass same within a month. Budget approval is a constitutional duty.
We should all agree that our leaders are simply incompetent starting with PMB.

ok , I understand you. We should allow the NASS 11 months to pass the 2017 budget .

My point is that, the failure is a collective one and not that of NASS alone

He is no Judas. PMB and APC never supported him. He is ambitious.

Your campaign is on the wrong thread. We are discussing serious politics here, not whizkid or Tboss.

When Tambuwal announced his defection to APC; the house of reps was shut down for more than three months officially and six months in all.

From your world view only the NASS is to be blamed for 2017 national budget delay. Seems your Buhari is faultless. Presenting late budget in the midst of recession is not a mark of a Chief Executive who knows the enormity of managing a complex economy like that of Nigeria. I have always argued that PMB made this recession worse by his in actions, he was not in a hurry.

Budget was present to NAss December last year. Since then all of the 4 months and counting delay is wholly down to the NAss.

I'm not in anyway supporting Saraki, my argument is that the whole thing is a collective leadership failure and not that of NASS alone, PMB has his own share of blames too. I voted PMB, but I am not impressed with the complacent way he has handled the economy since he took office. For example look at the nos of months he took to get his cabinet together.
We must hold our leaders accountable, both Saraki and PMB inclusive. Don't idolise them.

Please explain how the NAss failing to approve a budget passed to them 4months ago, is PMB's fault. Please explain the leap in your logic.
