How Nigeria Leaders Have Truncated The Dream Careers Of The Young Generation by MrCareersNig: 10:41am On Apr 03, 2017
The pursuit for a successful career in Nigeria has never been so difficult the way it is today. This is due to lots of uncertainties on the path to actualising ones dream career in Nigeria. The pursuit for one’s career is most of the times full of excitements whenever the thought of pursuing it arises but as one approaches the actual practice (even when he or she has fulfilled part of the requirements) it starts getting difficult and seems like a mirage. This is mostly caused by the high rate of unemployment in the country which leaves the young generations in pursuit of a dream career with no choice than to accept any offer that comes their way as job. As such, they end up in a career path they never imagined.

The high rate of unemployment being experienced in the country today is largely caused by Nigeria Leaders who have in one time or the other benefited from the good of the land – Nigeria. And had to take on and practiced the career of their choice with ease. But today, their untamed hunger for corruption and the senseless accumulation of public wealth, these same people have brought Nigeria into a state of dismay with high rate of unemployment and high costs. Thereby making things so difficult for the present generation to pursue their dream and choice careers.

Could this state of dismay be the method Nigeria leaders in various capacities are using to impoverish the younger generations thereby making them instruments to execute their evil plans including violent? This can be best answered by the individual.

The question that comes to mind in this situation is “Should the young generation in Nigeria stick to the career of their choice? What if it becomes so difficult for them to lay their hands on some of the basic things that will aid their career or they were not admitted to study the course of their choice at the higher institution? What if a job that would aid one’s career is not forth coming, should one wait for the career job he is not sure of getting while time is going? Considering that he may never get to practice any job related to his dream career. All these are situation beyond one’s control.

Since we have found ourselves in this state, what are we going to do? Giving that these are situations we have little or no influence on. To me, the simple answer is “Everyone has to take his own destiny into his hands and work had to be the best at whatever one does and wherever one finds himself as one may become even more successful in that line of career more than the career he has always dreamt of pursuing”.

Despite the state of dismay we find ourselves as young Nigerian, our peers are still becoming successful every day in their various career path. So why must we wait until we have all the wherewithal. Always remember that the road to achieving your career will never be smooth. So, Standup and the Bull by the Horns
