Pls any lawyer in the house should pls advice. My tenant is owning me two years rent and early this year I gave him a 6months quit notice cos he's a yearly tenant. He called me and ask we work Things out thn going to court so I agreed, he said he will leave by the end of the year but he will first pay me 530k for the last year's rent and balance up this year's rent by the end of the year B4 leaving.. He transferred 100k saying he doesn't have the balance now and can't say when he will. My question is... Should I return d money (cos I don't want anything affecting my quit notice) or should I just lockup and continue with my notices?

You have been lenient enough bro... He's a tenant at sufferance already m. Please give him 7 days notice to recover your premises. You have given him 6months notice which has elapsed and he is still in possession right? He has exhausted his rights as a tenant.

Never return that money because the court won't say he shld not pay for the 6 months notice given to him talk less of 2yr rent..
What you need to do is to continue mounting pressure..also what you need to understand is that your action have direct response from him.

When it's 3 month out of the six month quit notice.. Serve him a reminder stating fully the amount owed...
By then expect him to make another part payment..
