The Niger Delta Avengers have claimed responsibility of blowing up yet another NNPC major crude and gas pipeline in Warri Delta State. In a series of statements released on their twitter account early Friday morning, the Avengers activits claimed they attacked the pipeline which is heavily guided by the Nigerian military at exactly 11:45pm on Thursday night. The statements also rubbished the reports making the rounds that the group is negotiating with the Nigerian government for pipeline protection contracts, saying that Freedom for Biafrans which encompasses people in the present day South-East and South-South of Nigeria is paramount to them more than any other thing. "At 11:45pm, @Niger Delta Avengers blew up other NNPC gas and crude trunkline close to Warri. Pipeline that was guarded by the military." the Avengers declared. Also going further, the Avengers rubbished the purported negotiations going on between some people and the Federal Government in their name describing it as "an insult to the sense of Niger Delta." "What we need is a sovereign State, not pipeline contracts" "To the IOCs, Indigenous Oil Companies and the Nigerian military. Watch out, something big is about to happen, and it will shock the world" the Avengers activists declared. In a related development, the Avengers also claimed to have encouraged some of her brave and courageous soldiers through promotions. "The Niger Delta Avengers high command has rewarded some brave and courageous soldiers of the Avengers. Have been promoted to the rank of a Brig.
