Leaders of several Igbo trading organisations all over Nigeria and key Igbo transporters in the country will storm Uburu in Ebonyi state on Friday, 14 April , 2017 for the first Igbo International Easter Retreat titled Ndigbo Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow.

According to a statement signed by Chukwudi Ibegbu for Igbo Information and Communication Network, the event will be hosted by the Minister of Science and Technology, Chief Ogbonnaya Onu and is non partisan.

Also to hold that day is the flag-off of the ‘Igbo Youth and Women Empowernment Foundation’ and the ‘ Igbo Hall of Fame/Cenotaph’ . The Igbo Hall of Fame/Cenotaph will be built at Umuegwu Okpuala, Afugiri in Umuahia North LGA of Abia state in the home town of the former Premier of the old Eastern region Dr M.I. Okpara.

The statement said politicians of different hue in Igbo land and Nigeria are also warming up to feature or at least observe the Uburu event in preparation for 2019. It is believed that the presidency is also interested in the Uburu event and will not be left out in sending its footsoldiers there. Other political gladiators in the land are not left out.

Governors of the South East are all likely to witness the event.
