Microsoft have faced several criticisms over their privacy policy and how it snoops into our private data without permission. The most recent was the threat of enforcement action from various European regulators over the "excessive" and opaque nature of Operating System data collection.
Ahead of next week's rollout of Creator's update for Windows 10, Microsoft has decided to shed more light on the data it collects from you by releasing more information on the diagnostic data it collects.
Microsoft intends to create more transparency as the Creators Update will introduce a new privacy settings menu, designed to make users decide on what information it permits to be sent back to Microsoft.
Also, Microsoft has launched a web-based privacy dashboard, which lets Microsoft account holders check the data Microsoft has collected about their use of its services such as location, browsing, search and Cortana.
