So the minister or commissioner for health is not investigating this death. Doctors/ Nurses can be investigated and their licenses withdrawn . Just get a good lawyer. Also people must be prepared to have video evidence of these incidents. Lets speak out more so that things can improve. If the doctor does not come to work and patients are waiting all day( make a video and post online) include time and doctor's name hospital's name etc. 3 Likes |

chimebube: So sad ur wife is late, buh there are lots of.lies in dis story. No medical doctor wuld nt want to attend to ur wife simply because u refused coming to his private hospital for delivery. Doctors value their licence more than any amount of money. U didnt tell d world hw ur wife,a witness refused blood transfusion which led to her death. Meanwhile its so sad d way u value ur work more than ur wife. Rily sad. Its more terrible d way u are ordering ur mother inlaw to take care of "her daughter". 1 Like |

I've always known medical personnels in Fed Med Centres and General hospitals to be predominantly heartless. I know how many people have died through their negligence. Reason I avoid them at all costs. Poor woman, poor babies and poor husband. What an avoidable calamity. |

/ Wait for all the quack technicians parading themselves as doctors jump on this thread to blame the system. You will be better off going to Ghana to deliver than have any of those "glorified killers" touch you in Nigeria. It is sad that the vast majority of them believe in esprit d'corp in issues like this. Doctors in Nigeria? Na. Unless my dog is sick. Even then... About 95% of them have no business in medicine. They got into medicine because their parents made the choice or they want to feed their egos. Talk is cheap. Their excuses loading in 3...2...1... \ |

The Nigerian health sector is filled with problems just like a lot of sectors in Nigeria. The anger of Nigerians is absolutely understandable. But if you see how people die from Road accidents, how people die from infected water, how innocent people die in the hands of the Police or Army. How Politicians have starved Nigerians. The list can go on and on... Are we really surprised that innocent people die in the hospitals? The Nigerian system has a lot of problems. And all these problems are interconnected. And until we start to demand accountability from all those in charge rather than celebrate mediocrity, nothing will change. |

Really sorry for your loss but This is obviously half of the story......... You told of the pain your wife went through before childbirth....this is normal for every mother. You however conveniently omitted the part that she had given birth before the death a day before. Who was with her after giving birth cos someone has to stay with a new mother to attend to her various needs. What went wrong before the need for blood? Thai is just whipping up sentiments after the death. I've had friends that missed flights because their wife put to bed. I've had friends working in banks that had to miss work because the wife delivered. Who leaves his wife in the hospital just the following day after delivery of a twin to visit a Site? Doctors and nurses are and can be callous atimes..........they have seen too many death and too many emergencies to realise that every patient feels that their own case is the worst and deserves to be seen first. NB- all the history of not wanting to take her to the theatre is hogwash........There's always a rooster for theatre that is followed, you can jump protocol if they feel your case is worse as was obvious in his case. There would hundreds of patients that needs attention in that hospital....you can't demand to see the doctor if he's unavailable. The doctor could be attending to another patient or in another surgery or plain eating while you were insisting you wanted to see them. I actually feel he wasn't around well enough for the delivery cos almost all the reviews prior to a surgery are done by not just one but several doctors and yet,,,,you still dint see anyone of them. 4 Likes 3 Shares |

Nigeria Death Squads 1. Drunk, gun-wielding policemen at checkpoints. 2. Doctors in FMCs and Teaching hospitals. 3. Armed robbers. An encounter with any one of these groups is death guaranteed. |

[quote author=midehi2 post=55331623] so at that critical stage, he should be parading his wife for other hospitals, which might be even more clueless, i still maintain ....visit a good His wife was not that critical on the first and second day. When he was denied access to see doctors. That man's inaction and absenteism killed her wife coupled with fmc wicked nurses and doctors actions |

Even abroad women still die in labor. In Nigeria, if a woman dies, the health workers are trouble. If God says one will die, hospital won't save de person. Women give birth at road side, markets place, at home, and are gallant. Hospitals have their flaws jus like everywhere in Nigeria got flaws 2 Likes |

Fake story Your wife died because she refused blood transfusion (Jehovah Wickedness Folks) Besides,a real Man doesn't make noise/feel bad/cry over his wife's death. Nature and society makes it possible for him to marry any woman of his choice as soon as he wants. So quit complaining and do the needful Or are you not man enough? |

Pre eclampsia is responsible for 40-60% of deaths in developing countries and post partum eclampsia is even worse and almost always leads to death even with intervention and here you are blaming doctors and nurses. Worse still she was having twins making it a far far terrible case than normal.I feel the doctors would have told you initially that they had a very bad case with which anything could happen. Without even listening to the hospitals side of the story and from your account, you were negligent at some point. If you feel inclined, kindly sue the hospital instead of maligning them. Nigerians are the most hateful and unhappy people on earth despite any prior study. Now I understand the dynamics of jungle justice and how it thrives even on the internet. 2 Likes |

furezra: Exactly... this thread is revealing... there are a lot of sick people in Nigeria, mentally deranged and united by unexplainable hatred. I understand his grief but the guy tells one side of the story that has a lot of holes and everybody starts beating the health staff to death on these pages, meanwhile... no one remembered that the same wicked hospital delivered 2 babies safely which took a team of docs in the theatre. If na to defend politicians who are the actual killers, them go full the thread. The other side of this story may shock you, something happened that this man is not divulging about the blood and he exaggerated several things to gain sympathy like the labour pains. The hospital is a busy place, you cant go to your site, come back and start demanding to see a doc who probably has several other emergencies or clinic to run. I hope doctors are reading this thread... leave this country, its too late to salvage 2 Likes |

jumpandpas: I am sorry but your post doesn't make sense. I wonder if the husband would be one to operate, deliver and transfuse blood to his wife, if he doesn't go to his own work. Did u even know at all that if the husband is a doctor, he is not allowed to deliver for her wife? |
