Starcoms? there is no starcomms coverage in gwagwalada. The fastest connection is glo. Have raced up to 1.6Mbps sometimes but 600- 900kbps is often more like it.

Zain is whacked here. the Edge speeds are like70kbps

reltel abi zoom is more than whacked. its like 20 - 40kbps. I have since dashed out my modem, and i had problem getting people to even accept it for free grin

Etisalat is decent. Get 200 -250kbps. Its the most stable. more stable than glo sef.

No MTN 3g. its a dubious Edge. its like 100 -150kbps that is very unstable

University of Abuja (within the campus and environs) wireless is free and initially fast at 1 - 1.5 mbps. Its now less than 40kbps if it works at all. I hear it was downgraded on purpose.

believe me i have tried them all in Gwagwalada

@ blaze
You are welcome. Anything to help a brother. Etisalat or glo? hhhmmm, I will go for glo. Why? 6,000 bucks for 100 hours of 3g is the most sensible bargain amongst all networks in Gwags. Glo's 3g is faster than etisalat's EDGE. Be ready to endure some network outages (like flipping from 3g to GPRS) though it lasts for a couple of minutes and is not that frequent.

@ dual core
May be your babe was not the technologically adventurous type. I dont blame her. It can be a pain in the neck trying several options, but it worth it and where in Nigeria this doesnt happen. University of Abuja used to have campus wide (academic area and hostels) wireless internet and all classrooms and offices are wired with access speed of 3mbps. Trust Nigerians to abuse previledges. I used to hook to the wired LAN and browse, sometimes oh, during lectures (to look up things and challenge some mentally lazy lectures with whacky questions. It was fun!)

He is definately in the wrong thread. If anyone wants to sell a glo 3.5g modem i'll buy it if its cheap and if i get the offer before i purchase from glo.
