The Bring Back Our Girls(BBOG) movement has berated the federal government for failing to create an effective channel of communication with relevant stakeholders on issues concerning the rescue of the missing Chibok school girls.

A member of the BBOG strategic team, Mrs Maureen Kabrik in an interview in Abuja to commemorate three years of the abduction of the girls denounced the government’s failure to communicate its plans with even the relatives of the girls, noting that such action goes against a significant demand of the BBOG movement.

Despite the rescue of 21 of the missing girls, many of have remained missing three years after.

On January 16 this year, the minister of information and culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed along with the minister of defense, Mansur Mohammed Dan Ali led a delegation from the Bring Back Our Girls movement to a tour of the north-east to enable them obtain first-hand information on the government’s effort at rescuing the girls.

However, Mrs Kabrik said three months after the tour the federal government is yet to implement a sustained feed back mechanism to keep the people informed which is one of things the BBOG has been demanding from them.

“There should be a channel of information that should have been created, if for anything to help their parents in Chibok who everyday are calling us here to find out if we have heard anything from the government. And that was also one of our demand; that there should be a means of getting information,”

She explained.

Mrs Kabrik said the group won’t quit its campaign for the safe return of the missing girls.

“We will not go away.”

She declared.

“We will continue to demand that each of those 195 Chibok girls; the future of Nigeria, the leaders of tomorrow are accounted for.”

She added.

On his part, the chairman of the community of Chibok people resident in Abuja, Mr Tsambido Hosea expressed regret at the government’s enduring failure to rescue the remaining girls despite not lacking the capacity to do that.

“Before, we use to think that the government does not have the capacity to rescue these girls, but now that the government has been able to rescue 21 of them, what stops them from using the same means in rescuing the rest?”

He queried.
