A former Snapchat employee has alleged that the social media company's chief executive officer Evan Spiegel said 'India is too poor a country to expand its business to'. The former employee, Anthony Pompliano, alleged that the comment was made in a 2015 meeting discussing user growth, where Spiegel reportedly said, "This app is only for rich people. I don't want to expand into poor countries like India and Spain." According to a report by Variety, Pompliano was in a meeting with the Snapchat CEO to discuss and propose ideas for global outreach and growth of the application when he was "abruptly" interrupted by Spiegel. When concerns were raised about the app's slow growth in a market like India which has a growing mobile penetration, Spiegel cut the employee mid-sentence saying, "This app is only for rich people. I don't want to expand into poor countries like India and Spain." The publication reported the comment earlier this week, when Pompliano's allegations were made public. 1 Like

This is a mere allegation from someone who is obviously beefing the snapchat CEO, there is no evidence that he made the statement. These indians sef eh, low 3rd world mentality, lol. The statement pain dem they know it's the truth, mentally and financially they are poor. Serves them right. Snapchat don't even need them, even Spain no complain |

Snapchat, be ready for a buyout by Mark Nsukabag of Facebook. Else you'll run out of users and trust Mark, he'll use this as an advantage. |
