With Nigerian young minds trying to do something new, NEWSTRACK went into the Nigerian Campus Journalist with most position held as a Campus Journalist, this conclusion came after a research into campus Journalists and their exploits in relation to this young Accounting Graduate. Speaking to Newstrack, Olanrewaju Oyedeji relayed how much glad he is having been able to whether all storm in the field of Campus Journalism. Olanrewaju had been a thorn in the flesh for most Union office holders while on campus due to his several write ups and columns. Although, Olanrewaju said he loves accounting, his foray into Journalism lives a lot of questions on lips of people, he has written reports for leading National Newspapers in Nigeria. Whille in 200 level before proceeding more into grooming himself with Premium Times where he has been reporting till date. Newstrack gathered that this young man who never studied Mass Communication has his reports published by outlets such as Daily Sun,The Nation News, Osun Defender amongst others. Olanrewaju as gathered was once a Chairman Guild of Editors of Association of Campus Journalists OAU, before going on to become the President of Same Association. He held position of the founding Chairman of National Association of Nigerian Campus Editors, he was one time Editor in Chief of Insider Newspaper and Managing Editor of Same paper. He founded and organized Campus Editors summit in the year 2015. He also currently holds position of Advisory Council Chairman for Nigerian Campus Editors . Olanrewaju is currently the Assistant Electoral Council Chairman for Nigerian Union of Campus Journalists and also doubles as head of registration committee for same body . Newstrack gathered that Olanrewaju has a book to his credit which he wrote after leading an online campaign for reopening of Obefemi Awolowo University in the year 2016. Olanrewaju also holds position as an On-Air personality, he currently runs a radio program on Oodua FM in Ile-ife , after having a stint with Crown FM. When asked how he feels with his achievements, Olanrewaju said "It is just a beginning for me, holding positions wasn't always on my mind but young men like Sodiq Oyeleke inspired me and my boss Sam Adegbola also inspired me" Asked what he plans to do with all the experience in the media, he said "Very soon my plans will be known to all and sundry but I want to focus on my pet project of empowering people before venturing into forensic reporting given my accounting Background". Newstrack, compared the number of position held and couldn't relate it with any other campus Journalist in Nigeria for now. Campus Journalists have been challenged in quarters to make a change ,that which Olanrewaju says he is planning to keep doing even in the outside world "my reports on campus got me in trouble but I kept on high, I had good friends like Lukmon Fasasi in the field, I look forward to more future" He also praised Premium Times "They gave me a rare platform and I am very glad, I hope to have more opportunities there".
