The first time I made $1000 was after I put in many hours of work learning the internet business, buying online courses, falling into scam programs and developing a plan AND executing that plan. That wasn't as exciting as the first few tens and hundred dollars I made from freelance websites and blogging was quite a surprise because I wasn't expecting them and the little cash always paid the bills back then.

In my case, making a few hundred dollars was the critical moment because it was a signal that I was going in the right direction. By the time I hit my first $1000, I was already expecting it because I already broke the ice and was moving in that direction.

An international client responded to my pitch after over two weeks. And that was how I got hired to create a simple business website on Wordpress. The deal never ended like that cos I became fully hired managing the website.
