Isn't it possible to pass a legislation that any police officer without a senior secondary school certificate minimum shouldn't be issued fire arms even at check points unless there is a serious emergency has been reported in a particular location. Then departments like the SARS shouldn't recruit anyone who cannot provide any certificate higher than SSCE. Also, an independent police watchdog agency with the power to carry out impromptu and/or undercover inspection of police officers on duty. Lastly they should be able to carry out periodically random drug tests on our officers. There's a lot of work to be done in this country but the police force has to take top priority after the economy. Secret to improving security of lives is in reforming our security outfits. 1 Like |
