When you see the likes of Bill gates, doing great things in the tech world, what else can you imagine than their homes being the home of all kind of technology gadgets you can always think of. But this is not so in majority of cases, like Bill Gates’.

Bill Gates revealed to the Mirror in an interview that he limited his children’s exposure to technology, which is quite ironic as his inputs has actually increased other people’s exposure to this same technology.

“We don’t have cell phones at the table when we are having a meal, we didn’t give our kids cell phones until they were 14 and they complained other kids got them earlier.”

“We often set a time after which there is no screen time and in their case that helps them get to sleep at a reasonable hour. You’re always looking at how it can be used in a great way – homework and staying in touch with friends – and also where it has gotten to excess.

I can only imagine how it must have been for Bill Gates’ kid knowing how vast their Dad’s tech influence is, but yet they were not still allowed to use a smartphone till they reached that age. But then, there must be a reason for everything.

Now, its not only Bill Gates. In a Sunday New York Times article, reporter Nick Bilton says he once asked Steve Jobs “So, your kids must love the iPad?”, and Jobs responded that “They haven’t used it. We limit how much technology our kids use at home.”
