According to reports, about six players from various NPFL clubs are in Uyo with the expectation of joining Akwa United Football Club in the mid-season transfer window.

Akwa United had an amazing first half od the season in the NPFL securing eight wins, five draws and six losses, and sit 5th on the NPFL log with 29 points from 19 matches.

Players that stormed Akwa United camp in Uyo are Abbas Rabiu of El Kanemi, Moses Oche of Enugu Rangers, Christopher Lolo of Katsina United, Gabriel Okechukwu who played in the Turkish league last season amongst others.
