Now Nnamdi Kanu Is Free, What Next For Nigeria? by OTgenasis: 3:58am On Apr 30, 2017
I am a product of an intertribal marriage (Yoruba and Igbo) and I remember someone once made jest of me that if Biafra should secede from Nigeria, my parents will have to share me in to two...lol.

On a more serious note, I heard Nigeria once practiced regional government whereby each region controls the resources of that area. And then there will be a central government that will oversee affairs from the top.

Now my question to fellow nairalanders is this.....What do you guys think of this regional government stuff? Is it the right system for our beloved country? I'm asking because me i dey fear war oh. And I don't see Mr Nnamdi ever backing out. So what do you guys think?

There will be no war. There will be no break-up. There will be no progress. Nigeria is doomed.

You proly have two passports, but that is not happening soon. The powers that be, 'veto power @ the UN' said no cessation in Nigeria.

So, the govt can let IPOB rant all they want. Nigeria's has the worlds backing.. it's clear "nobody moves"

The truth remains that Kanu and IPOB won't back out from the rightful demands. That's established.

Kanu has achieved his plan, within 2 years he made Biafra a hot topic and confered respect on Biafra activists who were before now mocked by people especially yorubas as 'Rabble-rousers', 'Isreali flag carriers', 'female handbag carriers' etc.

Journalists in the US, UK, Isreal, Japan wrote about Radio Biafra, Kanu, Biafra, IPOB. Biafra, a word that was a taboo in Nigeria and was even expunged from British oxford dictionaries (due to the amoral part they played in '67 war) became a sensation and was reinstated. Today people talk about Biafra like they are discussing the weather. Thanks to Kanu and IPOB.

The truth remains that Nigeria has a VERY CLOSE expiry date, even non-Biafrans like Femi Okonronmu, FFK, Ciroma know this. That's why the north is hurrying up to develop their solid minerals and find crude in large quantities in their arid region.

Anyone who thinks nigeria- one of the most politically unstable countries in the world will survive forever is deluded. It CAN NEVER. The disintegration might not even come from Biafrans but Biafrans will keep making people see the unviability of the contraption so you can think about an alternative.

As for you being a product of Igbo and yoruba. I'm not really a fan of intertribal marriages, even your lord Buhari doesn't believe in it, that's why all his daughters are married to Hausa/fulanis. I believe in 'Ethnical purity'.

***Don't let people deceive you the phrase 'detribalized nigerian' are political words only used to garner votes from other ethnic group.***

There is no 'scattering', nigeria itself have scattered the lives of its inhabitants. It has to give way so that it constituent parts can re-arrange their lives.

You're right though. But I still believe regional government can solve our problems. If each region controls their different resources, there will be better human and infrastructural development. The regions will compete against themselves developmentally and corruption will reduce drastically .

When Biafra becomes a country, you will become a dual citizen of Biafra and Nigeria. It is not a must that a persons parents must come from the same country.

On a more serious note, I heard Nigeria once practiced regional government whereby each region controls the resources of that area. And then there will be a central government that will oversee affairs from the top.

Regionalism is a good thing, Nigeria started off as a country of 3 regions. Later, a 4th Region known as the midwest was created. The 4 Regions were later abolished by Gowon and 12 created which later grew to 36.

However, the truth us that Regionalism/ true federalism/resource control is gone from Nigeria forever. The North will never allow it and they control over 60% of the votes at the National Assembly. It is only at the National Assembly that Regionalism or true federalism can be effected.

That is why anyone who wishes to control their resources or their economic and political future should think seriously about leaving Nigeria.

That is why Biafra is the only way out for Igbos and some of the minorities of Southern Nigeria. Only Biafra can guarantee true federalism and resource control. Anyone who prefares to continue with 'one Nigeria' should forget true federalism/Regionalism/resource control
