Meet Lizze Velasquez.

Lizzie was diagnosed in the womb with an extremely rare, non-terminal genetic disorder.

Among other things, it prevents you from gaining any body fat. Alongside her, there are only two other people in the world suffering from it.

This disease also has the ability to stop your heart at any moment, weaken your bones, and causes significant sight problems.

She was bullied growing up, and of course could not live a normal life because of her disorder.

But that was only the tip of the iceberg for her.

When she was 17, the cyber-bullying began with a video titled “The World’s Ugliest Woman”, talking all about her appearance.

It amounted millions of views. Many of them were supporting the video as well.

Normally, that would crush someone and never make them want to show their face again.

But guess what? She saw this as an opportunity.

She sprung into writing books about this, giving speeches at schools all over the country, TED talks, a documentary, everything she possibly could to send the message of love and acceptance.

I find that incredibly inspiring.

Taking such a seemingly dark and mean thing, and turning it around into something beautiful.

She’s an incredible woman.
