Messi have over the years shown glimpse of being the greatest footballer ever to don a football shirt and step out on the field of play. just like Maradonna is synonymous to 1986, Pele to 1970, gerd muller to 1974.. Messi is synonymous as well to 2012, a year rumoured to be the end of the world turned out to be the most one-man-dominated year in football history. he scored 91goals that year and won the Fifa ballondor with landslide victory. we all witnessed the young man make history. between 2009-2012, the ballondor was his property. he won two UCL between that interval and truely gave us top notch performances we will never forget, breaking records and also staying humble and remaining a team player. he also is the the la liga greatest player and Barcelona's king.
years have gone by, messi has had his own share of problems too, he shot his penalty into the sky during the 2015 copa america, he went missing in the 2014 WC final, he lost couple ofawards to ronaldo, his team got annihilated by bayern in 2013, he has also had his own fair share of injuries....
