Congratulations dear. Am still waiting for mine, macquarie university also. CO contact March 29th....am very hopeful for God's grace.

quote author=fobak203 post=67051796]Timeline for visa
Immi account creation: 3rd November 2017
Medicals: 23rd November 2017
IELTS: 25th November 2017
IELTS Result: 8th December 2017 (LRWS:6.0,7.0,6.5,7.0, overall 6.5) My mind skip when I saw my result on that day sha
CoE: 13th December 2017
Visa application submitted: 15th December 2017.
At this point, I believed I had taken the shortest cut to resuming on January 1st 2018. First, by doing medicals before application. At that point, I was still speaking English with Macquarie University that I have a University of Manchester Masters, dem just dey look me dey laugh. Looking above, I was only giving the CoE after submitting my english test. Also, miracle did not happen so by 20th January, I already knew I would have to defer. Let me continue my timeline, my story.
CO contact: 26th January (Late commencement date letter)
For a second, I did not understand what the case officer wanted from me, but I had to logicalize that since I am doing a Masters by research, DIBP believed I could resume anytime apart from January 1st. My brothers and sisters, hope rose by DIBP and dashed by Macquarie when they said I can only get late commencement for straight Ph.D. Dont forget I have a bundle offer of MRes+Ph.D and 1 year MRes scholarship only for now anyways. Instead, in place of late comemencement, I submitted updated CoE
updated CoE: 10th February 2018
No further contact until 8.18am today when I got news of my visa grant
Visa grant: 26th April 2018.
Resumption date: 1st July 2018
School: Macquarie University
Course: Materials Engineering under Mechanical Engineering Department

Note: I suceeded the waiting game by indulging and becoming engrossed in my office duties. That has proven to be a very good antidote for waiting for your visa. Oluwa has done it. It finally ended in praise.

Do not hesitate to ask me any questions!

God's hands is not too short to reach out to us to deliver your visa grant, it will be delivered in due time. To all visa hopefuls, it will come out soonest.

Cheers ALL
Hi, am a French graduate with about 8 years of work experience. Age 33 .My wife studied computer science with 3 kids. My wife's age 25. Whats my fate in Australia? In terms of getting a good job and settling down to earn and make a living. How do I go about the entire process? And please how long does it take?

What are the things I should also do to start?
Thanking you in anticipation to your Swift response.

The question "whats my fate in Australia' made me chuckle, but I will try to be as logical and sincere as possible. Although, there are some loose ends to your statement. You are a French graduate, does that mean you studied french, or you studied a particular which was not mentioned in France. Going the PR way, your wife is more aligned with the PR route, because she can go for a course in IT and she is younger. Going by the student visa way, you are the architect of your own building, if you can satisfy english, GTE, admission and financial requirement, any of you is good to go. But remember, who is more likely to get admission based on GTE that is one of which is relevance of the course should be the applicant and the other a dependent. In terms of getting a good job and get a good living. It is sure you would be fine, you might not necessarily get a good job, but my ideology is you can get a good pay depending on where you decide to start from and eventually settling down is not a problem and you would be happy you made that choice on relocation. On going about the entire process, I and some experts have incessantly posted how to go about the whole process on here. Start from page 1-5 and then you can put my name in the search tab and see some of my step-by-step on how to go about getting a student visa

Cheers

Dear Fobak203,

Thanks so much for your swift response. I really appreciate it. I studied French language (major) with 2:1 here in Nigeria. And I think I meet the financial requirements. I have a family of 3 and I really need to know which is the best possible route to relocate to Australia both to get good job, and secure permanent Residence for my family.

Would you advice securing a job there first? While i am still here, is it even possible? Or trying to get enrolled into a university for a Masters Program, and secure a job while studying. And really boss, what's the very first thing I need to do?

Kindly advice.
Thank you.

I'm really sorry about that. I only have idea on PR process, I don't know the " chemistry" related occupation you checked on the list. But if none could work for you, then the school option is very ok. I need to know your profile and the choice you want to choose for your masters in order to know if it's related. Cheers mate.

If your wife is ready to prepare and pass IELTS well, then she can nominate an IT profession and apply for PR. Sincerely, I don't know if your French studies would fly for PR, but gurus can contribute. The best route would be you go alone for Masters program, wife and kids join you later, wifey then applies for PR and guarantees y'all a PR.
It us difficult to get a job in Australia, but it is doable. Just to mention, once you are studying, majority can work while studying and it is a nor mal thing.

The very first thing you need to do is put up an applications for Masters program for yourself and wifey, who gets admission can proceed with visa application

Oga kessel you are soooooo wrong!!!!

Statement of account is at the discretion of the CO and not mandatory for AL1 schools. You need to apologize for saying he fabricated his timeline.

Oga Kessel, it's very simple, fabricate your papers too and get your grant. Ask questions if you don't know something. ignorance kill most Nigerians, for your info, once an AL1 institution clears you and give you CoE, then you are good to go and apply for your visa without SOA. The embassy may or may not request for it while your application is being processed.
I shared my timeline to encourage someone out there. Sorry you choose to be a doubting Thomas but I give God Almighty the glory for what He has done for me.
I hope you get your grant someday and we meet up in Aussie. One love.

This is harsh. You just displayed a high level of ignorance in the assessment levels immigration uses to rate financial capacity. FYI, AL1 schools may not be requiring an SOA unless otherwise stated. Kindly tender a heartfelt apology for being too hard with your words. God bless.
