The girl ugly sha.

The guy needed a serious relationship with u by asking u to cook. He went out and bought the food to show u he can afford it.

Ur laziness made u lose not just a boyfriend but potential decent husband that will prefer eating in the house instead of outside.

The young guy just wan show u he is a homely guy that prefers eating at home to eating outside.

Too bad u wia too dumb to understand wia he is coming from.
Is this one ok. Lyk dis

The girl did the right thing. The guy is silly, assuming the guy went to the kitchen to prepare the food, the girl can join him in her own accord, because it was a first date and she ain't his wife or gf yet.

Just what I thought

But its ladies that will be bothering you that they want to cook for you .

the dude must have taken a wrong turn

Your life, your choice. You could have checked him out at least on one more date to truly get a good assessment of what the guy is all about. The part I don't get is the fact that even in that state of disbelief or disgust for his request, you still waited around till he went to go buy rice and you eat it, not even knowing the condition of the rice since I assume you didn't go with him and then after chopping, you tell him to him to take you home. He could also draw his own conclusions about you too ...u know..You could have head home before the rice now...just kidding...but seriously the fact that guy guy got up quickly and still went out to fend for you suggest that he might not be so bad afterall. He perhaps was just trying to get a feel for you or just trying to joke. You could have straight talk him, like, am sorry but that is not my role or something like are you serious, what do you mean by that. Something to get him to talk about it so you can truly see if he truly meant it or not especially since you were waiting around anyway. But hey, I wasn't there, what do I know.

Cooking is not by force, anybody can cook cause it can be learned. Is that what your parent told you? Is that how you were trained?
Anyway when you marry, don't cook for your husband and children, you can be buying food from mama put and eateries, it will last you forever.

Being the 1st date, the guy was too forward as well, may be he should have made the first move and see if you will join or not. The guy messed up for asking you to cook on the 1st date and also you lack home training for saying it's not woman's duty to cook, I'm not blaming you for refusing to cook but I don't buy when you think cooking is not woman's duty. How were you able to eat that rice he bought from the eatery? Where's your pride? After all you refuse to cook, you should have rejected the eatery food as well.

I agree. I'm married to a real man who was raised by an absolute Queen! My mother in law never had formal education but she thought her 7 sons how to respect a woman.

God bless her soul!

I don't know what kind of mother raised a man that would order a lady to enter kitchen on the first date! God forbid.

All these feministic ideas self!

Were you thinking by dating him, you were doing him a favor?

Could it be possible that you totally misjudged him?

One thing with all these feministic ideas is that they allow for you to have a rigid view of things, " If men do this then he is nothing but a misogynist"

The first time bae visited, I cooked and she enjoyed it, So my ideals don't restrict women to the kitchen.

You said you dumped him, so that's to make you special uh? Fine, Good luck with finding a man who won't ask you to cook.

lalasticlala, or whoever is in charge of this board should move this to FP, so we can have more views on this issue.
The difference is that You invited bae over to YOUR house and YOU cooked for her. When you meet someone initially, you don't demand anyone to go inside your kitchen to cook for you. On top of that, he wanted her to cook for his friends.

Thats totally wrong and bad manners. You don't do that to someone you just met, so i understand why she felt that way. It's not about feminism, its basic home training and manners. When you have a guest in your house, do you demand them to go inside your kitchen to cook for you? Its the same logic abeg. Apply sense.

You should be ashamed of yourself, not only that you should also try to slap your chick.. blamed yourself for miss a potential husband.. I don't even know who move this irritated matter up.. what are you to teach the young one..

The level of hypocrisy on social media stinks to high heavens, some of the ladies supporting the girl do worse things to win a man's heart.

To the Op you need counseling, the guy really needed to let you In..In as in into his heart, home and life but you messed up with a capital "M"

Let me educate you guys that are well to do have something to loose, they dont eat anything a lady brings to them, i for one dont let female visitors cook for me, we all know ladies can be dangerous...When a man loves a woman she becomes his mother, and last i checked a mother feeds her son and not Tasty fried chicken.

Well i agree from the picture you posted you are still young, time dey your side..and to all those shouting on the first date, if he had given her money will she refuse it because na first date? No woman has ever turned back money to me and told me "Eh this is our first meeting i cannot accept your money" but when other matters arise i hear that "First Date" balderdash..Abeg make una park well

LIES from the pit of hell.

I never washed or even cooked before my husband married me. It was after my introduction that my husband tasted my food! Rather each time I come visiting we would go out for lunch! I was treated like a honorable guest in his house. He even did my laundry. Real men treat women well!

Few years ago u said and still not married till date, u have lost a potential future hussy, hope u don't end up like some celebrities who think they can buy any man whenever the ready for marriage, ask well my dear they are loners till date, not even a boyfriend they call their own. Who knows if the guy wanted to know your kind of person

Thats how its supposed to be. You don't slave yourself perfoming wifely duties to a man, who hasn't put a ring on your finger. Same goes with men.

Someone said the guy might be testing the girl and I ask what kind of stupid test is that?

If a guy test me with this kinda thing I'm going to happily fail the test again and again.

Imagine! sitting on the couch and asking her to go cook for you and your friends on a first date... because she is what? the woman?
and when does being a woman mean being stupid or your slave?
