Knowing More About The Nigerian Capital Market And Bonds. by Isaac1988(m): 10:16am On May 11, 2017
The capital market is an avenue for new public companies or organisations seek funds from the members of the public to commence business.such funds are are converted to shares with per face value which represents the interest of the persons who have invested in the company through public offer. It is to be noted that such funds could also be converted to bonds which is a debt instrument with the owner entitled to interest and repayment of the capital at a latter date. Therefore it is pertinent to ask at this stage what is the best mode of investment in nigeria currently? The question can be answered in the affirmative in the sense that it is wise to invest in bonds than shares.it should be noted that bonds are always issued by the government or its agencies to help generate capital from the public of which such capital will be paid back at a latter date with interest, such funds are used by the government to finance capital projects and other infrastructural facilities.in nigeria we have the federal government of nigeria bond which you can invest in and interest are paid bi-annually before the capital you invested will be paid back at the end of the duration of the bond.there is an agency created by the federal government in the ministry of finance for that purpose which is the ''debt management office''. Which helps in monitoring your investment and payment of your interest and capital at a due date.however the minimum you can invest is 10000 naira, you can contact your bank for more clarifications and you will discover the fgn bond as the best safest investment for now because it is not subject to recession or liquidation as applicable to companies issuing shares and your capital and interest is guaranteed.reply me for further questions
