The DSS has been made to tender an unreserved apology to the son of the South-South chairman of CAN - He was also awarded N250,000 damages against the DSS director-general and the Delta state director of the organisation - His arrest was deemed unlawful by the court in the Apostle Suleman case A Federal High Court sitting in Asaba, Delta state, has asked the Department of State Services (DSS) to apologize to Mr Tareri Avwomakpa for unlawfully arresting him. Mr Avwomakpa is the son of the South-South Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), who was illegally arrested by DSS operatives in February 2017. Justice T.B. Adegoke who gave the ruling on Tuesday, May 9, ruled against the Director-General of the DSS and the Delta state director.
