I had being pondering over this thought for quite a long time, the issue was raised in today's Sunday school but the answers wasn't satisfactory enough so I decided to bring it to NairaLand religious section. I know the parable of the ten (10) virgins in the Bible (Matthew 25:1-13) and lots more. Personally, I think the issue of coming late to church service or any event is a thing of Ethics and not a serious sin before God. I still stand to be corrected if my opinion is contrary to what is written in the scripture. Thanks for your contributions

We love to throw the word "sin" around (by questioning is this a sin or is that a sin), yet we lack the basics about living a life pleasing to the Lord.
Honestly and respectfully, the question of "sin" or "not a sin" shouldn't even be discussed in regards to attending church on time.
Once again, it's all about principles....based on love.
Colossians 3:23 says, "And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men".
So let's make that practical.
It's simple....
One goes to work on time daily.
And most times, it's because of the consequences associated with "not" coming to work on time (termination etc,)...although it really should be about honoring God....by doing whatever job to His glory (which includes living an honest & upright life).
Whatever the reason though, one makes it a priority to arrive to work on time.
How much more important is it for one to get to church on time to meet corporately with the Creator...(the one who blessed you to get the job that you arrive to each day on time)?
Ultimately, it's supposed to be about Him (in everything we do) correct?
