In 1969, North Korea shot down a US spy plane. President Nixon did not retaliate because he couldn’t think of anything to do that wouldn’t risk provoking all-out war. In 1994, President Clinton contemplated a strike against North Korea’s nuclear weapons program, but was advised that it could cost 52,000 US and 490,000 South Korean military casualties in the first three months, to say nothing of South Korean civilian casualties and North Korean casualties. Seoul is so close to the border that North Korea could turn the city into a “sea of fire” with its rockets and artillery. North Korea’s million-strong army could invade the South through tunnels, by sea etc. North Korea probably has the capacity to strike the USA. The same technology used to launch satellites is used for ICBMs, and North Korea has launched satellites. The US Defense Intelligence Agency said that they did years ago. In short, North Korea employs a hedgehog strategy. It cannot hope to beat the USA in combat. But if the USA tries to bite it, the USA will be spiked. The thing is “Kim Jong-Un” - seeing what happened to Gaddafi & Saddam - will NEVER give up his nuclear arsenal, for it is all he has got. Without his nuclear candies, North Korea would be no more than a small, impoverished failed Nation just like Libya, Afghanistan, Iraq & Syria - but with confirmed & tested ICBMs and SLBMs, he can behave as a major power, or more importantly, hold other major powers “like Israel, Amerika & that God-forsaking alliance - NATO” at bay.   By now, even Trump, in his insanity - notwithstanding, knows that some problems just cannot be “solved” - especially when “Don Spiridonovich a.k.a Putin” is just “lying in wait” for Amerika to commit suicide by attacking North Korea so that Mother Russia can team up with her other aggrieved & silent enemies - just to exact devastating vengeance on Amerika for all her “evil deeds” since 1945 Now, back to the question: Y Is Amerika Afraid To Attack North Korea? Answer: Because Amerika does not know exactly what North Korea's nuclear capability is, but it will CERTAINLY be sufficient to wipe out South Korea & Japan from the map of the world.
