I have a friend wink who worked for a while ( 2 and a half years to be precise), and left December 2008.

I will give you some info which i beleive should be of help.

As at the time He left, he was on second level ( Banking Officer)

His take home pay on a monthly basis was approximately 120,000.00 ( after statutory tax deductions, pension deduction, medical deduction and the deduction of approximately 40,000 per month for an upfront payment of housing allowance. ( Meaning he collected 480,000 at the begining of the year)

The difference in pay between the Assistant Banking Officer and the Banking Officer is not always too much so we can assume that it would have been in the range of 105,000.00 after deductions ( Probably collected Upfront of 360,000 at the beginning of the year)

Things have not changed much since then so this should still be helpful

Bye

Cytosin:

Bank workers can be such a airheads, Look at this guy's statement for example. They live in fantasy islands, you will never get the truth about bank work from a bank workers especially a Nigerian bank worker. They like to present a rosy picture even when an Nigerian knows that they are suffering and smiling. If it was the time when banks were using depositors money to pay their workers false salary, this guy would have been boasting how many thousand Naira he takes home but Sanusi has exposed them we now know the truth.

@poster
Congratulations, may you enjoy the job beyond your imagination.

Hmmm it really depends what department of the bank
the guy was offered employment in.
From the looks of it if he is a "Graduate Newbie"
then he salary could be between 50 - 100k
If he is a 2nd Jobber (Graduate with at least 2-3 years experience)
then it could be 100 - 150k depends on the area of speciality
and the value added while at his previous employment at also the bank he has been offered the job.

Now the Biggie!!! If the Guy has been offered a Job in the "BIG C"
department of the bank then he is a "Muppert" for even asking that
question!

A banker friend of mine is in der "BIG C" Dept of a bank in Lagos
and he keeps he month-shut,does he work and gets PAID!!!
HE flies to london on friday Night and flies back to Lagos on Sunday night
and is back @ work for monday morning as acts like nothing happened "Oh SNAP"

So i guess it depends on what dept of the bank you are in!

Knowlege is Power folks & Ignorance in Niaija is not bliss lol!!

i wonder why u all are so rude and aggressive on nairaland?
if u dont have ANYTHING nice to say then dont say ANYTHING!
GEEEEEZZZZZZZZZ,

Dont mind them my dear, some people have a flat-screen/CPU/Keyboard/mouse
and internet access or a Laptop/internet access and it makes them feel
they have to "shout at the top of their lungs" to be heard, its a sad mentality.
The truth be told that what they type online comes straight from the heart
so they are just venting their true nature. They may be more "PC" (Politcally Correct) if we were all having this discussion face to face.

or they maybe @ work and the only way to release the pent up anger
of the office is to vent online!!! ROFLAMO!!! LOL!!!
