The Senate on Tuesday has given the Federal Government fresh conditions upon which it would consider and approve its $5.8 billion loan request from the China Exim Bank. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2017/05/5-8bn-loan-request-senate-decline-approval-south-east-exclusion/ Front Page: Lalasticlala Mynd44 1 Like |

People should take note the Senate doesn't want the SE excluded from the new rail projects. They even shouted down annother Senator saying let's do it later. If the SE isn't considered by Senate Committee on Local and Foreign Debt they won't consider the loan. 9 Likes 1 Share |

But, the question still remains, why would anybody propose a loan of such gigantic magnitude and deemed it normal to exclude the SE? What exactly is the force driving such demonic motives. If Ndiigbo didn't raise dust about this gross discrimination all over the media, with demonic people supporting such moves and labelling us too emotional, I am sure the bill would have been passed with active support of Nigerians. Here is a thread on that loan, notice how Igbophobic Nigerians saw no wrong in the exclusion of SE, with most of them offering moronic excuses to support their stance.https://www.nairaland.com/3434857/federal-government-leaves-out-south Here is how these same people thought it cool that no single SE state should benefit from SME loan scheme : https://www.nairaland.com/3603916/south-east-missing-fgs-loans 17 Likes 2 Shares |

For Sen. Gbenga Ashafa, he said that government was a continuum as as such the South East could still be captured in the future. His comment infuriated many of the senators who shouted him down. You can imagine how callous and demonic these people are. Is he saying that the rest of the country won't also be captured in the future? 30 Likes 9 Shares |

I remember Minister of Transport gave a few half baked reasons why SE was excluded. He said President Buhari just continuing late President Yar’Adua plan. Then weirdly told senate he considered himself Igbo. If Senate President and Deputy President are in agreement I guess the Federal government will revise plan. |

Not a bad condition considering the fact that the entire country will pay back the loan and not only some selected regions. Little things like this matters a lot in a multi ethnic country like Nigeria. Kudos to the senate and most especially, kudos to senator Abaribe. This is a more mature and acceptable way of pressing for once right in a democratic arrangement. If the representatives of each constituencies are alive to their duties without silly compromises, no region will be able to marginalise the other. 8 Likes |

The ongoing road rehabilitation and construction massively going on in the south east aren't going in other geo political zones and no one is complaining why will this senator try to whip up sentiments where it's not supposed to be so. bunch of ingrates. 1 Like |

pazienza: Carry your wahala and go away. You just want to find fault where there is non. I am not talking about the money but the original design that excludes most south eastern states. The design of the Lagos-Calabar rail was done under Jonathan and I don't think it was a deliberate attempt to leave out the south east. People like you really need to sheath your tribal sword. I just returned from inspecting federal road constructions in the south east on Friday and I can tell you serious work is ongoing. Stop the silly attempt to tribalise this thread and be reasonable for once. 3 Likes |

IgbosAreGreat:If only he is alone in such sentiments, I wouldn't mind, but the tragic truth is that Gbenga mindset represents the default mindset of the average Yoruba towards Ndiigbo and Igboland, as we can see from this thread https://www.nairaland.com/3434857/federal-government-leaves-out-south Not even those of them masquerading as Igbos are spared of this sentiment. 18 Likes 4 Shares |
