Amodu - Another slap in your face. Picking unfit players I am sure he splits their allowances with them or is it the Rolex watches they bring back as gifts that  blinds you from seeing these guys are not worth the effort  shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked

Wolfsburg striker Obafemi Martins has left the Nigerian squad to see his specialist in Europe after he complained of persistent pain on his recently operated shin.

Eagles media officer, Peterside Idah, confirmed the departure of the striker Wednesday morning.

"Martins has gone back to Europe to see his specialist as regards the problem with his shin. He has complained of pains on his right shin, which the experts said should not be the case after he underwent surgery recently," Idah told MTNFootball.

Martins did not take part in Wednesday morning's shake-up in at the training ground in Benguela, which is a walking distance from the Eagles Hotel Praia Morena. The top team official insisted that Martins will be back in time for Saturday's make-or-mar Group C match against Benin here in Benguela.

Idah confirmed that Locomotiv Moscow striker Osaze Odemwingie has also resumed full training with the team after an infection.

Quite a big slap on Nigeria, but why would it not happen when everything in this country is all about god fatherism, aso rock connection and so on. When there are young and fit players scattered all over the country and no body to pic them up because they don't have god father.

This country will continues to fail until these problems are tackled if not there will be no head way.

We must begin to take the positives out of every situation I believe. In the case of the (Super?) Eagles / Amodu, at least now we know who we may have leading us to South Africa later in the year!

Personally, I think Amodu is not clued up enough to do the job, period!  However, he is not so bad. We could make the best of the already terrible situation, by pairing him up with some technical genius, whom he will listen to at crucial moments, especially during player selection to make up the TEAM and, during matches, when crucial changes need to be made. These are two critical areas where he has consistently got it wrong, for whatever reason - incompetence or sheer tough luck.

We could also bite the proverbial bullet and send him packing. Which would also open a few cans of worms and bring on a few more problems. But, something needs to be done pronto! Otherwise, man fit defect from Naija during this world cup oooo!

Lets simply assume we are still on a voyage of discovery, discovery of the make up of the Eagles team which we hope shall do justice to every football-loving Nigerians ultimate ambition, to see us perform creditably in a World cup tournament.

Back Fire !! I understand Shaibu's sentiments. Martins is one of our best strikers, and may be the coach thought he could recover on time . It was a gamble. But let's see how the SE would perform.

NFF and Amodu and stinkingly stupid they knew martins had injury and he cannot play instead of replacing him with Enaramo they took martin along with them.maybe because Enaramo do not have God Father that was the reason he was dropped.

Nigeria is really finding it difficult to breed again a formidable team squad like the early 1990's during the era of Westerhof.Ever since those players like :Daniel Amokachi,Rashidi Yekini,Steven Keshi,Uche Okechukwu,Uche okafor,Taribo west Sampson Siasia,Sunday Oliseh,Victor Ikpeba,Emmanuel Amuneke,Austin Okocha etc retired from soccer, its not been easy for Nigeria to raise such strong team again. In those days of the above mentioned names,i derive joy watching any match Nigeria will play with any country, but these days,i dont waste my time watching the Super eagles match,Nigeria has lost its glory in soccer arena.Who among the present Super Eagles players can you compair with these old players i have mentioned, defintely NONE!.Even politics has entered the sector. Its a pity.

they are picking players for him.

If that was the case, did Amodu cry out or resign?

If your statement is true, did he not claim victory and asked to be judged by his "unbeaten"
result enroute quailfiers when the same FA chose players for him?

Why cant you believe it is 100% Amodu's responsibilty to form his team?
Re: Martins Quits Nation Cup Team :o by Bukittes(f): 2:55pm On Jan 13, 2010
What do you expect from a country who does not have a leader? You are defined by your head and a headless man can not be recognised nor live. I am not surprised at our performance yesterday and I am still not surprised with this latest development. Please, somebody look for Yaradua OOOOOO! Things are getting out of hands!!!

I very much agree with you on this. My prediction goes same, that we will not qualify for the next round (Q/F). What is happening here is just the fall out of our Nation. Its seriously reaping its reward for so many years of mediocracy.

If we should review the match against Egypt, we can go on and on, but what we will mos likely extract is that we all know the solution to the problem, but as Nigerian's we never want to give in to solutions. Maybe for some selfish reasons, it's just what we have accustomed over the past 50years.

I'll most prefer Nigeria leaving the tournament in the most disgraceful sense of it. This will give us the jitters and then we will now do what we do best in such times, SPEND the money that could have been used for better things wastefully hoping that this will solve the problem.

Another trend again repeating itself, we dont plan for the future, we like crash programs. We can't outshine other countries that have the planning mentality. We can only be at the limelight for just a short period and then fade so much into the dark thereafter.

Nigeria my country, how I hope to see us learn and change.

Joseph Akpala was wasted, Micheal Eneramo was disgraced, Dele Adeleye was demoralised, by this same Amodu. He should have requested to have Umaru Musa Yaradua in the team as top striker sef. Just check out those injured

obafemi, yakubu, Odemwingie (a must even if injured), shittu, Yobo, etc. The only difference between these guys and Yaradua is that they are not in the intensive care unit.

Re: Martins Quits Nation Cup Team :o by ademiife(m): 3:03pm On Jan 13, 2010
Amodu is a mess. The FA is a no-brainer. The players are unpassionate. The end is failure.

Amodu should never be blamed? How warped such a thought or speech! Then blame me
for not being able to stand up for good players; for not being able to demonstrate good sense of judgment!

Please leave prediction. Does it matter? The Super Fowls or-what should do whatever they can do and get out
of Angola. Fancy they'll go as far finals? But that doesn't change anything about Nigerian state of football and footballers.

Who amongst them compare to Amokachi? Amuneke? Finidi George? Victor Ikpeba? Sunday Oliseh? And so on and so forth-
not to forget our brightest striker ever: Rashidi Yekini?

My silence.

Don't fret any more. There is little or nothing you can do to the issue on ground. You can't change the team we have, you can't change Amodu right now, you can change the Igbin our president is. We are only sowing efforts put into Nigeria. Our president is slow, it shows on the players. Physicists say, to every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. The bible says, God is not mocked, a man will reap whatever he sows.

Simply put, Nature is at work. God is at work. Let time now have its course.

But if you can change it, please help us. Cos its going to get even much worse.
