What Ministry Is About by Nobody: 8:13pm On May 18, 2017
Ministry is an activity carried out or done by Christians to express or spread the gospel of Jesus Christ which is tied to the great commission (Mathew 28:18-20). Ministry is the assignment given by God to man as a tool in reaching out to the lost and bring people back into his kingdom. This mandate of ministry is a command by Jesus Christ to all believers to carry out. Ministry is not all about been a pastor in a church and preaching from the pulpit because that’s what we think ministry is all about. There are various kinds of ministry which is scattered around the seven mountains of society. Everybody has been given some form of talent and with the knowledge of this talent, that’s where you know the area you are called into. God designed ministry in such a way that it doesn’t only end in the church, He made it that even in our different sphere of lives, we can still carry out ministry without necessarily coming to church but must first start in the church.

Just as our faces are different, so as our ministry are all different. For any ministry God created or have called you into, he deposits the gift or talent to help back up that calling. They are called ministry gifts. So therefore find your area of calling, the area you are naturally drawn to, the area you are passionate about, because that is the area you are called into. The amazing thing is that you cannot function in an area you are not called into. Because there is the grace to succeed in your area of calling, of which when you start doing it, you will excel in it. In doing what you are called to do, that’s where you find fulfillment and Joy.

With all these gifts and talents God has deposited in us, we can be able to reach people who cannot be reached by the church because the church cannot help everybody. So as we move into the world start doing something for God with our gifts and talents God has given to us, we in some way come in contact with that person who needs our ministration. The wonderful thing there is that there are people who will not listen to a pastor but will listen to us.

So the purpose of our talents is not just to make money with it, but to serve God with it in different ways. Why there are so many distractions in the world today is because those people who have been given the mandate to minister in certain areas in the society have failed to do so, thereby allowing the moral decadence of the society to dwindle. Our job as Christians is to continue the ministry of Jesus here on earth in different diverse ways possible and not be limited to one. The job of the church (pastors) is to equip us with the latest tools we will need to do ministry.

There are two ways to it, if you don’t spread the gospel with the gifts and talents God has given to you, then you are invariably spreading the gospel of the devil with it. So therefore let’s all rise to the occasion because the whole world is waiting for our manifestation.
