CHANGE OF ORIENTATION VENUE IN CROSS RIVER STATE

This is to inform all Prospective Corps Members deployed to Cross River State in the 2017 Batch 'A' (Stream One) that the venue of their Orientation course is now CROSS RIVER STATE COLLEGE OF EDUCATION , AKAMKPA, CROSS RIVER STATE and not the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Obubra, as indicated in their Call-up Letters.

All Prospective Corps Members deployed to Cross River State are, therefore, requested to report for camping at the new venue.

I wonder how Nigerians plan, a scheme as important as NYSC should have been well thought out and the change of venue should have been handled long before the posting. Anyways I hope those posted there see this before traveling.

If you end up in Cross Rivers, do all within your power to land in Calabar. Ogoja or Ikom MAY BE managed but they are very far (at least 6 hours) from Calabar. Every other part of the state is still civilisations behind, especially areas in Cross Rivers North. The state government has failed in its duty of bringing development to all parts of the state.

I served in Cross River during my service year and will love you to know that you should forget about Calabar hype... its a place of lazy men that want to feed off corpers

Most NYSC camps in Nigeria are show of shame.

The thought of paiko NYSC Niger state camp is still fresh on my mind. Useless government!

Obubra is OK but now that lassa fever is there, its not safe coupled with the fights going on there

Obubra camp is hell on earth to camp...its nothing to write home about .
everthing inside the camp, is God-forsaken, right from their water, to d weather its hell .
heat inside d camp is dreadful....in fact , all their facilities

you mean ikom four corner? Most part of ikom is a bad as the other villages. Ugep is alright too.

i camped in obubura n its sure one of the better camps we hv in nigeria.....closeness to calabar is not important as u aint leaving the normally throughout the camping duration....i jus wonder what facilities they have at the 'akamkpa camp'....jus expect the worst in terms of comfort.

I'm happy for ds pple,, obubra camp is worse,, more than worse,extremely worse.

Obubra obubra me I no like obubra,that's the meaning we gave to the early morning trumpet blowing by the military to Wake us from our bed,when we were there 2005 we enjoyed the camp,but I don't think it will be so now hence the need for relocation. I pity those my friend who resides and sell near the camp

Why na? ? I miss my days in Obubra. Dirty.. yes, mouldy ..yes, far from Calabar town..yes. But it's part of the adventure. If it was in the heart of the town, then I don't thing there will be much fun in it.
