Nigeria needs to safeguard the integrity of the army by using it sparingly. Using Police for the purpose it was created is a good place to start. If police aren't fit for purpose make it fit for purpose. Another problem with Nigeria is the dysfunctionality of the third/fourth arm of government -which is the people. The people of Nigeria do not hold the legislature accountable for problems in the state, although they think they do. The people of Nigeria call for conflict instead of improvements in the state believing that calling for conflict informs the legislature that they the people are tired of calling for improvement in the state, which is why they call for conflict. In actuality, at no time have the people of Nigeria called for improvement in the state -where it needs to be called - instead all they ever did was wait patiently for change or argue among themselves about the deplorable nature of the state. For instance, before calling for conflict with herdsman, why not register displeasure with the legislature over the matter of Herdsman by organizing a nationwide strike that stops the state dead for a day or two or week instead of argue about herdsman among yourselves, resorting to ethnic insults in order to work ourselves up to the fervour that leads to conflict . Relevant middle belt people have fought herdsmen for decades with no permanent changes in outcome. If they can organise themselves to a level capable of disrupting state government, chances are better solutions would be found. |

mikeoh: Big fat lie, after google search you will find that this picture was provided by ND Avengers and picked up by some blogs over allegation of abuse of some Niger Delta women by the military during their Operation Crocodile Smile; even so there were also counter allegations suggesting that this too was nothing but propaganda because the soldiers in the picture were in fact not even from the Nigerian Army. In any case, it has nothing to do with the current situation in Igbo land - Igbos are just chronic liars of no credibility at all; no wonder over 10,000 of them were identified with exam malpractice in the just conclude JAMB - what a shame. https://thesummary.com.ng/index.php/news-categories/national/item/8200-operation-crocodile-smile-see-how-soldiers-are-molesting-helpless-niger-delta-woman-photo |

Nigerian army is the biggest shameless group of liars in the world. Don't bother asking them anything. Their standard character is simply to lie. |
