Tragedy struck Saturday night in Benin City, Edo state when generator fume killed three people, two women and a man. It was gathered that the unnamed occupants of the apartment located at Agherase Adu street died after inhaling smoke from the generator set reportedly kept in the kitchen. The police have since taken away the bodies.

Using a generator indoors CAN KILL YOU IN MINUTES.

Generator exhaust contains high levels of carbon monoxide (CO), a poisonous gas you cannot see or smell.

If you can smell the generator exhaust, you are breathing CO. But even if you cannot smell the exhaust, you could be breathing CO.

Never use a generator inside homes, garages, crawlspaces, or other partly enclosed areas. Deadly levels of carbon monoxide can build up in these areas.

Using a fan or opening windows and doors does NOT supply enough fresh air.


ONLY use a generator outdoors and far away from open windows, doors, and vents. Make sure to direct the generator's exhaust away from these openings because they can pull in generator exhaust.


The generator must be at least 20 ft away from your home.

before we normally keep our generator near the kitchen but since last year we keep our generator outside in fact far away from the building o. but we now added more blocks to our fence to make it high because arm robber is so common in that our area.

sure it is possible they are coming from a party where they were completely drunk and as a result they will switch on the generator and fall as sleep without removing their clothes

From my point of view: Here is my opinion


If thats the actual state where they were met after the incident , Those guys didn't die as a result of generator fumes.. They were murdered.


1] The naked guy was falling from the bed ? thats not one of those things generator fumes/CO can cause, its meant to weaken the person, made the person strength-less and the death should also be on that spot.


2] how come two lady wore white trousers ? one was even wearing shoes , lying on the bed with her back... thats not a sleeping position. Guessed they just came back from a party or just preparing to go.


3] they powered ON generator ? how come there's electricity in dat room , who switched it for them?

4] watch the video below, there's no cable around the generator, probably they're just keeping the generator in the kitchen

NO MATTER WHAT STRICTLY AVOID PUTTING GENERATOR INDOOR OR THE EXHAUST FACING YOUR WINDOW WHILE IS ON. PUT IT OUTSIDE AND EXHAUST AWAY FROM YOUR WINDOW.
